I work at a college computer lab where students come to do their homework and whatnot. Once in a while i notice cute girls that i am potentially interested in. I know that this educational environment is not a pickup bar so women don't expect to be hit upon there. What's the best approach I can use here? I've tried following in the sequence: saying hi, asking their name, introducing myself and smalltalk about college, asking for a number. I have been unsuccessul thus far, as i've received "i have a boyfriend" responses. Any suggestions to potentially improve the results of my approach?

Ok here is your best advice from a former pimp.

DON'T FAWKING DO IT!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU GUYS STOOPID AND DESPERATE????

With all the available women out there your going to fish off your company pier? Your asking for nuthin but heartache's and possible job loss later on if shyt get's ugly...imagine her accusing you of sexual harrassment after you break up just to pay you back...even if your innocent it could still cost you way too much just for a weak piece of arse.

Get a fawking life and get out there and score other women.

Playa Supreme I would agree with you if the setting was work. I've had nothing but bad experiences pimpin' at work!! However in this particular case the guy is in a college setting so it's different. I've worked in a lab setting before, so I know it's different.

I'm not quite sure what you're doing that's getting the "I have a boyfriend" response. Maybe you're moving too fast and maybe you need to cool it off a bit.

legolas may be right by saying you're moving too fast. Since it's a computer lab I'm sure some of them will return at some point. Introduce yourself, ask their name, what they're working on and tell them you're here if they need any help. Next time they come in (if you remember them), ask how their thing went and further the conversation.

Patience is the key.

IMO that's a bad place with high rejection rates. My game is so much better on ****jobs I'm working on.

Find a place where you see girls repeatedly, and PU there.

Like I said. These women don't work there, they're students at the college, like I am. I just happen to work in the computer lab part-time. So you guys are saying that success rate for a cold approach is slim in this case?

A universe...where heartbreak and sadness have bee
Glance over their shoulder at what they're working on...if you can relate, strike up a convo about that. Be generally charming, transition the conversation, and then LET HER GET BACK TO WORK.

Lots of times, girls come there to AVOID distractions. All you want to do is break her concentration for a second and insert a good impression of yourself in her mind. Then LEAVE. If you're good, she'll be thinking about you as she struggles to work on her paper or whatever.

Then if she makes eye contact when she leaves, be like, "All finished? Hey, you wanna get some coffee/get together later?"

Or if you know she'll be back or you'll see her again, don't say anything. Just smile.

If you're REALLY good, when she needs a break from her studies, she'll come chat YOU up.

If you just go up to her and be like, "Hey, how's it going? What's your name? What do you do? Wanna go out?", then yeah, you're gonna creep her out. I know one or two people who just use a standardized, shotgun approach like that in ALL situations...and they're very frustrated people.

When you see a girl you like, go up behind her so you can see her screen, and say in a loud voice "I don't think you should be looking at stuff like that on a college PC".
