picking up a waitress .. gotta try this one

Whats up everyone ..
Tonight i went out to dinner with some friends and the waitress really caught my attention. Now I have always felt that it is hard to pick up a waitress because of the fact if they are good looking alot of guys try though out the night.

Well at the end of the meal it was time to get the check and i gave her my credit card. She came back and gave me a rather unique pen. So i thought .. hey how about this.

Here is what I did .. I left her a note that said.
" If you want to see your pen again call me .. xxx-xxx-xxxx ..

seemed good to me and a rather funny and good way to make a good first impression. I thought it would either be one of two things. Either she loved it or she hated it. Well I just got home and got a message from someone at the resturant. It was one girl ( not the waitress ) sounded like the hostess and they said jokingly " If this is Rick please return the pen to tony rommas .. " and then I heard about 4 or 5 girls gigling in the background. lol

Well maybe it didnt work this time but its worth trying again. I figured i will wait till tommrow since she was busy and maybe she might call. Maybe she wont .. but hey i gave it a try so whats the big deal.

its along the same lines as having someone else go up to her and say my friend likes u, here is his number

the girl would have been all over your nuts had you of just let your balls hang and chatted with her a little after your meal (you shoulda made a few jokes/small talk during your meal too)

girls like guys with big balls (confidence) and im sure she would tell all her girlfriends how badass you are for doing that

I did make small talk and jokes thoughout the sitting. But i am going for a unique way. If she calls or if i dont see her agian for a while chances are that she will remember me. And that is what i was shotting for. Waitress get hit on so much that it gets old and that would be why a DJ would have to do something funny and whitty to get the girl

Anyhoot. I thought that was pretty funny, and kinda weird too. The girls gigling in the background is a classic. I think they thought it was pretty funny, but other than that, stealing a pen to get her to call you seems kinda pathetic. It's like coercing someone to do something and then assuming that they did it because they like you. It is a classic AFC move.

If I found the pen to be quite unique and stylish, I would have gone for the non-obvious playful compliment/opener: "Hey this is quite a unique and stylish pen. You seem to have a great sense of style so I'm wondering if you have the same taste in other things." When she asks what other things you may say "I don't know, but I want to find out if you'd like to grab a cup of coffee and talk." Then you can give her the number and now you'll find out if she really wants to call you this time not to ask you to return her pen."

I work as a host in a restaurant with some major hottie servers. The fact of the matter is....they don't give a flying f--k about anyone except the tips the people give because its what they desperately depend on for money.

Another tip...in most restaurants, everyone is fake with their happiness and overall cheerfulness when talking to you. It's all fake, it's all just something to get you to shell out a better tip and come back so you can keep giving those tips.

I beg to differ. I've PU'd many a fem at mid-class and upscale type restaurants. I agree that much of the cheerfullness is fake and based on the waitress trying to be polite to increase the chance of a bigger tip, but, these waitresses are sexual creatures too.

Unixguy played his cards right. He was with a group of friends having a good time, not desperate, not a hornball, not AFC - just genuinely having a good time.

The move to get this waitresses attention was different than the average customer asking her the same "whats your sign, when do you get off, how long have you been working here" lines.

The different approach peaked this girl's interest level enough to call him back. If she really didnt give a rip about him, then, screw him and the pen. She called, he can set up a date, and he can give us a good field report.

I once thought that was a slick way of doing it, then I tried, and I litterally saw the interest level plummit before my eyes.

So Pimp - I'm in agreement with you too. Generally, I never give the personal number, I always get hers. Yes, giving the number does work at times, but, you're the one waiting for her to call - The ball is in her court, and I hate giving up power like that.

I think there's some credit to the fact that someone called back. Likely it was one of the waitress' friends/co-workers who she might have talked to about the incident.

Anyways, not a totally bad move.

I once asked a girl for her number, she was a friend and had a BF, and she gave it to me. I asked her if she had mine (I didn't offer it to her, I just asked if she had it). She then proceeded to hand me a piece of paper and had me write it, along with my address. A girl will likely not ask you for your number if she isn't a little interested at least, because it would give off the wrong signal if she wasn't interested.

Speaking as a waiter who's encountered this kind of thing maaannnyy times before at the place I work at - she and the entire restaurant now think you're a loser. I wouldn't eat there for a while unless you want to get laughed at.

keyword here is rapport!! and we did have that... that is why i felt good about it and just didnt want to do the whole " hey whats your # " ... i am still wiating for the other DJ's to tell me about their success rate and lines to get a waitress.
