Just read that she was accused of a felony in Florida for child neglect (4 kids) in 2003. The little kids were alone at 10 PM (she was partying)...with ants running all over the place and the only food in the house were condiments and beer. Bottles of beers within the reach of the children too. And urine smell in their beds.
Huh, there's a fair chance I might be able to look into her private files. I wouldn't be able to see into any child protective services files but given her background I say there's a good chance she's been on food stamps/medicaid, and if so then I'd be able to see child support case notes. Of course, I'm bound by confidentiality and probably couldn't tell you guys anything, but it'll give me something to do at work.

Hah, damn I'm good. A few seconds of searching and I found her. I found a woman with her same name, same age, with a child, who in June 2003 was charged with domestic violence and in October 2003 was charged with some felony, and in December 2005 was extradited from Florida to California.

BOO-YA!

Hah, I have the nickname of "The Inspector" and it's well deserved. :D

There was notable about her case except that I used the date of birth I found to cross-reference the court records and nailed down I found the right woman. If you guys want to see her court records, go to the Palm County Clerk of the Court and do a search on her name.

if he was away when the florida incident happened, then he either never found out about it, or she lied to him about it since the kids were never actually taken away. doesnt really sound naive on his part if he never had the facts to make his mind up.
He was "away" alright...as he was ALREADY dead.

Read the last parragraph (also see #3: below).

Also, particular attention to the following excerpts:

1: "A credit check showed she had more than $23,000 in debt, Navy investigators found.

But that changed with Todd Sommer's death, which left his widow a $250,000 lump-sum payment from his servicemember's life insurance policy as well as a $6,000 death gratuity, according to Terwilliger. She also was entitled to receive $1,871 a month from the Department of Veterans Affairs."

2: "Two weeks before her husband's death, Cynthia Sommer paid $16.95 for an Internet dating service that "focused on sexual discovery through adult personal ads.""

3:"During an 2001 investigation of child neglect-abuse, she told a North Carolina caseworker, "I have four kids. It isn't like I could leave them and go anywhere. No one wants to baby-sit four kids.""
Sounds like this guy did little to qualify this woman. He must have been p-whipped.

A clear example of a LOT of things we have touched in here... she is 10 years OLDER than husband. She was (prior to marrying him) divorced and single mother of 3. And she was obviously a slut.

He married her...and lost his life.

Widow convicted of poisoning her Marine husband with arsenic to collect $250K in benefits

I'm going to summary this epic.

In summary, here we have a 33-year-old mother of four (3 from a previous marriage) that poisoned her husband (22-year-old Marine) in 2002. The purpose was to collect $250K in benefits so she could get breast implants and have a more luxurious life.

In this case, his unexpected death was initially ruled cardiac arrhythmia. She donated his tissues and organs to research and his body was cremated. But more than a year later, scientists found elevated levels of arsenic in Todd Sommer's tissues: more than 1,000 times the normal level in his liver and 230 times the acceptable level in his kidneys. She was arrested and charged with his murder in November 2005.

Prosecutors admitted they had no evidence - no purchasing records, electronic paper trail or any direct link to prove that she had access to the arsenic that killed her husband. Instead, they focused on the defendant's seeming inability to live within her means and her promiscuous behavior after her husband's death. Witnesses testified that this woman had breast implant surgery two months after her husband died, partied in Tijuana with girlfriends and entered wet T-shirt and thong contests. Calling the defendant's former lovers to the stand to describe her abundant sex life, was another piece of the puzzle that the jury needed - evidence of her inappropriate grieving - to help them reach a guilty verdict.

Her three youngest children, including the son she shared with the dead husband, currently live with the defendant's brother in Michigan.
Well...I watched the news last night.

It turned out the guy died of natural causes and the DA office and medical examiners kind of messed this up. This woman was put in jail for two years for a crime that she did not commit. In fact, it was NEVER a crime. I decided to bump this in order to clarify this now.

She still did all the low class things described in the original thread (and that was probably the reason she was convicted). Having said that, doing those things did not make her a killer.

We see this happen to men too. They cheat on their wives...the wife die...and automatically the cheating husband is accused of killing her because people believe his cheating actions are motive enough.

Crazy.

Consider something closer to home:

For example, say your wife is having an affair. You may not know about it. Yet, you've authorized her to make life and death decisions on your behalf should you become incapacitated when you took care of your Will and medical proxy arrangements.

That unscrupulous person would have the power of life and death over you.

Bottom line, your mate doesn't have to be poisoning you. She could just be in a position to capitalize on your misfortune that works to her advantage.

Do you know what his death resulted from? Heart attack, overdose? That could also shed some light on the toxic (pun) nature of this woman.

personally, regardless if she killed him or not...i think she deserved to have been in jail anyways for whoring it out after her husband died...this story makes me wanna puke
That's ridiculous.

Her husband died, she can do whatever she wants to after that. For all we know he treated her like absolute sh1t and she was just finally living life. Who the heck knows. Whether she sleeps with a thousand men, gets size triple F's, it doesnt matter. For her to have been convicted on that evidence is absolutely terrible, and I hope she sues the hell out of that DA and the city who prosecuted her.

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.

Although, I found her behavior classless...I would have to say that I agree with you in the issue that she should have not been sent to jail for a crime she did not commit. She should sue them.

i have heard of people back in my grandma's day.. that the husband was accused of murdering his wife, found guilty and sent to prison and when they got out, they found out that his deceased wife that was supposed to be dead, had been lying about being dead and living with an alias name the whole time.
since you can not be tried and sentenced for the same crime twice, he shot her dead for framing him with her murder.

Yes, I have heard that too. Is this a true story? Apparently he was in the prison for a long time until the identity of the wife emerged.

Possibly the best revenge ever taken.

A woman with one kids is stretching it, but three kids that are not yours is just gross.

Can never trust these women who have baggage from previous marriages and children.
