It seems that some of you are missing the forest for the trees. The real issue here, as far as I'm concerned, is that a good looking, presumably rather well off young doctor couldn't find a better option than this unattractive, tranny-like woman. The fact that the director of the CIA chose to put his career on the line for her masculine piece of @ss is even more troubling. It highlights the desperate state of the North American male. Even the elite men are forced to deal with unattractive, mentally unstable women. I mean, just look at the evolution - or should I say devolution - of presidential affairs. JFK was banging Marylin Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor. Thirty years later, Clinton was dumpster diving with Paula Jones and Monica Lewinsky. If the trend continues, we will soon be learning that BHO is having an affair with Missy Elliott.

A+. Not only did JFK bang Marylin Monroe, the biggest sex symbol of the time and maybe all time, Liz Taylor and probably other women, but the FBI and others knew all about it and kept it quiet. Nowadays even high status men are at best banging non-hotties and more often than not they lose careers and reputation for it. Men are now second class citizens to women.

OH yeah, and a wife cheating is 100% her fault.

Hoover knew about JFK and used it for his own private leverage. It is worth noting however that JFK banged a woman who turned out to be an East German spy. Had Hoover not threatened the Congressional Republicans, it might have come out. Bottom line is although Kennedy was nailing better looking women, he too was 'dumpster diving' if you consider he potentially put our country at risk just so he could have an affair. I'd rather a president get a blowy from an intern than someone who would compromise our security.

In fairness, the intern could very easily be a spy too. You never know about such things. The point is that the supposedly 'most powerful man in the world' is actually a sexually frustrated, desperate chump who puts his career on the line for sex with the kind of women that, in many other countries, even an average peasant wouldn't touch. I think more than anything what I am tryign tos ay, is that "fault" is a silly, childish concept. i dont' waste time worrying or trying to figure out whose "fault" it is it's not going to help or solve the situation. What I can do however is see what part i played in it, and rectify any bad behaviors that I had in the issue. faulting is not going to do anything but make you bitter and get you on the self pity train. all i can say is look she did this... did i miss anything that would have shwon me this was in her.. honestly.. what could i have done differently in the course of our relationship to not lead to this behavior.. make a note on it and move on/spin plates.

Okay that makes sense...focus on what you have control over, not anything else. Most relationship failures I guess come down to lack of compatibility (failure to screen for somebody who can meet your needs and vice versa) or lack of relationship skills (failure to "maintain frame" or whatever nomenclature you want to use).

Just goes to show, the surface stuff you see with every day couples can be so damn misleading.

So apparently he knew about the whole affair for about a year, and had to write to the NYT to ask for advice on how to proceed! One of the three options he suggests for dealing with the situation is to not say anything and just "suffer in silence for the next year or two." How pathetic?

On a different note, growing up in Europe where every politician has a mistress and no one cares, I am always baffled by these high-profile resignations in the US.
