Yes maybe. I personally do not care much. I am not crazy about muscle gains that much. But maybe not right after lifting
I use the fridge to make cold water and ice.We don't have cold water here in Arizona.
I am for all kinds of ancestral gainzBecause our ancestors walked bare foot it doesn't mean, you have to. Same as sleeping on a rock in a cave.
I think it is not about being alpha it is about being less depressed, less anxious and so on. I think cold exposure deserves to be hyped. It changed millions of lives.Cold showers do feel amazing but.. It's also a hype train thing .. making guys feel like "YOU HAVE TO DO THIS IF YOU WANT TO BE ALPHA"
but the guys, you look at them and their physiques suck, they don't really play any sports.. so wtf are you doing? "Priming my body for ANything BRooOoO"
Here an influencer gets alot of smoke for being against the cold shower hype though he admits that ice baths are legit. However, the first thing I noticed was that my mind’s constant chatter was controlled by cold showers. After every cold shower, my consciousness is a blank piece of paper, blotted by nothing. It has become so much easier to sit down and read, or study, or write. It feels like some sort of cheat code.

Yet, cold showers have helped me immensely. When you put your body under that freezing jet of water, there’s no space in your psyche to be anxious about anything. The sole thing you want to do is get rid of that unpleasant sensation.
Don’t forget about that initial rush of adrenaline! Oh, man, it feels so liberating and addictive!
I read a mental health self-help book back in 2020 and each chapter had a challenge. I still remember the one about taking ice showers 30 seconds a day for a month. That was the same time I lost all water heating in my home, so for three days in a row I had to shower in ice and took 5-6 minutes a shower. It changes your psyche when you step out and towel off, leaving you clear headed. Will likely try it again.I think it is not about being alpha it is about being less depressed, less anxious and so on. I think cold exposure deserves to be hyped. It changed millions of lives.
Here is good post about a guy who had life changing results.
Yep, cold plunges and possibly showers (less research has been done here) etc reduce inflammation and constrict the blood vessels, reducing blood flow and interfere with muscle growth. As some inflammation is needed for growth and repair, it could be advised not to do these after workouts.Studies have shown that doing cold plunges right after workouts is actually a detriment to your recovery, should wait until the morning after.
"Sports Massages" there is currently no data to support the idea that the hardness of the touch creates better recovery but infact is another detriment to your recovery the harder you get touched, it seems to be more about relaxing yourself to enter a better recovery state so currently a shoulder rub as relaxing as a massage is as effective as a massage, its more about the mental relaxation as opposed to dealing directly with the muscles.
So if the cold plunge helps you relax sure
He said Hemsworth's routine typically involves ice baths in the morning, before training, for about three minutes at a time, followed by a post-workout sauna for 15-20 minutes.
"If your main goal is to build muscle, you don't want to have an ice bath right after training. Going straight into an ice bath after heavy lifting can decrease your gains," Zocchi told Insider.
