"I'm a law student here"
"OK...." in a submissive voice...
LOL, I disagree with you guys. I think it was pretty masterful. He created drama between mother and daughter, a killer tactic.
As someone who is in show business, I can tell you that it is a fact that when someone is comfortable in front of a camera, they can become an entirely different person and positively fearless. The camera brings out a personna that can't be as fully accessed when the camera are off. The cmera and the knowledge of being filmed provides an enourmous energy to feed the personna.
Let's take inventory here...
Ultra-good looks
Claims to be law student at college
Creates drama between two women (mother and daughter no less)
Ultra good looks
Respectfull toward mom
Ultra good looks
To mom - "We looked at each other and thought each other was cute so we're going to start there". Masterfull playing of mom.
The guy might have a huge advantage looks-wise (but notice that he has created a "closed", mysterious look that anyone can emulate), but there is a lot to learn from him.
Notice also that he keeps a cool attitude as if to convey, "I'm not really sure about you yet. I'm looking to see if you're worth my time".
This particular kind of exchange is a gamble and who knows what take number this was, but it shows what is possible in terms of creating energy and holding frame.
All you need is a sense of style, being in shape, and conversational skills and you can drop the training wheels, be your authentic self, and succeed.
