No one that's religious is in a position to imply that they have inherent, scientific-based skepticism of any tangible amount. They are pretty much open to anything. At least in my humble opinion.

I agree.

Saw an "orb ghost" when I 18. The experience lasted about 2 minutes or so. My impression at the time was "alien probe" of some sort, and not some sort of undead spirit.

In a way, I'd be nice to throw all of it out as just not possible, but even as a scientist, I do encounter difficulties with that when it comes to having had a personal experience with it.

I'm pretty interested in the paranormal, not so much in extraterrestrials, so I am biased. I am also very religious, so it all appeals to me. I've been into this stuff for quite awhile, so I guess if you'd been researching it as long as I have it would make more sense. If I had more time I could explain all my theories (for fun, of course, not trying to change anyone's opinion) and some of them aren't too far-fetched.

Example: Things like the fact that over 75% of alleged paranormal entities seen are child spirits. Makes sense, since there is no hard and fast line to where a person is old enough to understand salvation. I could get deeper into that but I don't want to.

Anyway, I do not have the "shining", but my wife claims to. She's been spoken to several times when she was younger, and to this day will not go to sleep without either me in the bed with her, the lights on, or the TV on. And I've taken pictures myself where figures show up who I KNOW for a fact were not visible when I snapped the pic. Coincidence? We all make our own decisions.

What's one man's ghost is another man's alien. Physicists think that there are other dimensions beyond this one, so who knows what may exist in them?

From a spiritual standpoint, I don't believe humans can come back as ghosts though. Think about it: if there is an afterlife, there are going to be things that that have existed longer than we have and know all the tricks while most of us die without learning much of this plane of existence. You think they would allow us to meddle with stuff while they just sit back?

With aliens, it's a numbers game. The universe is vast and I could believe there is an alien sitting on a rock scratching it's butt wondering if there is something else out there. I could believe that a tree is growing on another planet. Would it make me question if God exists? Not really.

But anyway, this was actually a good movie. The guy got on my nerves with how boneheaded he acted, and it was stupid how he did everything with the camera, but a story has to move some kind of way. The girl getting drug out of bed was the funniest thing though. That demon was ready to get him some...

Just saw this movie with a bud of mine. I thought it was okay. Was anyone else getting aroused by the camera style? It was giving me a ton of amateur porn vibes.

Heh, yeah.. Would have been way better if they had kept the camera on during that scene where he says she's wild afterwards.

Fourth Kind was good.

Two of my favorite actors (Elias Koteas and Will Patton) had a decent amount of screentime.

*********WARNING: Spoilers Ahead***********

I also like the way the Director intercut the actual video and shot film throughout the film.

Jovavich way over-acted as usual.

The actual shot video clips are quite disturbing. Especially the one with Deputy Ryan watching the house. Watch this one very closely after he get's out of his car.

It makes an argument that ghost's are misrepresented as ancient Sumerian Visitors. The argument is a good one.

A lot of people consider spirits to be sort of 'energy echoes.' If that were the case, it would be perfectly scientific. It doesnt mean the ghosts are a form of afterlife. Too many people have experienced ghosts (myself included) for there to be nothing to it. Its just a form of science, that we dont yet understand.

Yea, my first home was haunted.

All my family swear they saw some things, like some figure through the kitchen window, shadows, stuff like that.

I never saw anything though, but I could hear $hit, like very common that there was someone waking in the corridor at night.

One time I was on the toilet & I heard some footsteps outside stepping on dead leafs, “I WAS OUT OF THERE WITH MY PANTS DOWN”!!!

One time I can remember my sister went out to get the paper, not very long after she came back exhausted terrified, she was lying on the front door gasping for breath, she just kept saying, “a man, a man, a man”, we were like WTF???

I remember I was scared just looking at her, I’m getting the shivers just typing this.

We had an old lady as a neighbour & apparently there was some sick little girl who died in it a long time before.

Oh yea, take this in, on the very last day when we were moving out, just before we were about to leave, we found a hook underneath the kitchen drawer, the hook was like a knob to gain access to a little secret compartment. We found letters that were older than your grandmother, pictures, I think there were some post stamps & stuff too.

After fourteen years of my parents being in that house, on the very last day, just as we were about to leave, we find this!

Oh $hit, I’m not going to sleep now!!!

I saw this movie with a girl and I thought it was complete bull****. Neither of us were scared, there were NO scary parts in this movie whatsoever. I don't understand how some people actually get frightened from this, but to each their own. Heh, at least she payed for the both of us
