I thought it was wonderful.

Two primary reasons:

1. It was made for $11,000. You can't buy two tickets to a picture with nachos and a large drink for $11,000 anymore.

2. It stayed true to itself. It didn't veer off into vagueness and ambiguity and instead stayed within the confines of the overall theme. To scare the shat out of you.

Look at it from this perspective; Battlefield Earth cost $ obscene millions and is the biggest floating turd in the toilet bowl of Hollywood studio movies.

I'm a film grad and working filmmaker so my perspective on the craft of filmmaking is a bit different than the filmbuff. But I know a good picture when I see it and I saw it with Paranormal Activity.

I'm also the resident Demonologist and Historian for a paranormal group here in town which gives me a seperately unique insight into this material.

Oh and the screener copy has leaked out to torrent sites. I have all three screener copies which I've watched 5 times today. Find the 1.16 gig copy as it has the best video and audio of the three.

Is it really that scary? Thinking of taking a woman as a first, second or whatever i feel like kind of date. I'm not too good with scary movies but... i haven't seen a decent movie in AGES (7 months or so).

On another note, I'm looking forward to that 2012 movie. Although i am a sucker for doomsday type movies...

In all seriousness this picture made me jump out of my skin a few times.

It's not Pulp Fiction but that's the best part of it, it's simple and stays completely within the structure of the plot.

The acting is better than 90% of the garbage out now. Have you seen SAW V?

That's scary because it's so fvcking awful. I don't know how far they can take the SAW mythology without burning it to the ground.

P.A. is a perfect first outing picture.

Be warned though, there are some images which will stay with you well after you've gone to sleep after seeing this picture.

I thought the movie was total bullsh!t and a waste of money. Then again, I walked in already knowing it was fake....so then it just came off as cheesy.

Well apparently the rest of the audience that was watching it with me has less than half a brain...they all walked out saying it was real until I burst their bubble.

So Karma, I take it it's not the typical dumbsh1t horror flick like you described? I'm into the paranormal too and put it this way, I like shows like Paranormal State more than I like shows like Ghost Hunters, who try to prove things and don't think about the spiritual side of things.

So do you think I'd like this one?

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

You bet your ass I do.

The fact that Spielberg took time out of his day to suggest the theatrical ending say's a good bit about the picture overall.

What impressed me the most was how well it amped up the anticipation. Anyone who's seen it who says they weren't anxiously waiting for them to go to bed to see what else was going to happen is full of sh!t.

Watched it the other day. Pretty scary, but gave me a splitting headache. I couldn't wait for it to be over because of that damn shaking camera.

I'm gonna watch this.

I realize that 98% of this abduction crap is utter nonsense, but I can suspend my disbelief more readily for the possibility of extraterrestrial visitation than I can for ghosts and spooks. It's at least plausible.

??????????

There's at least SOME tangible evidence of "ghosts", whatever you want to call them. Many people don't know as much on the subject as I do, so I won't go into it. Pictures, video, etc.

There's nothing but a bunch of redneck fruitcakes that claim to be abducted by "aliens".

I think you've all been brainwashed by the media hype surrounding this movie, thinking this movie was a lot scarier than it actually was.

You've got to be motherfvcking Richard Simmons to be scared of this movie.

This movie was terrible. Let me spoil the movie real quick about 1hour in the movie you hear like 3 or 4 banging sounds on the walls. The only part of the movie that was entertaining to me was when the psychic said he had to go because the demon was pissed off that he was there. If demons give you a boner this movie is for you.

Tangible? Like ectoplasmic residue? Heheh,..

"something sneezes and you want to keep it."

What I meant was that I'm far more inclined to believe the possibility that extraterrestrial life in the universe exists than I could ever be convinced that Aunt Mildred is still lingering around in the spirit realm.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.
