Although it doesn't exist anymore but to me it's still an awesome metal band.
Pantera maintained their reputation through their years which a lot of other good bands fail to do.Cemetery gates is an unique song,I love the intro riff which is quite easy but exceptional and the solo of course is bang-up.

Phil just fvcked it up for them though. He was a great frontman but somewhere along the way he completely lost the mark. CFH, VDoP, FBD, and TGST are some of the best metal albums ever though...:rockon:

Pantera was a good band, just a little to "Metal-Core" for me though, like lamb of god. Never really dug the vocals of Metal-Core singers. In my opinion you can't go wrong with death or black metal vocals. Love 'Amon Amarths' vocals.

I always thought Pantera was pretty mediocre as far as metal goes.

Dime is one of my all time fav guitarist.
Just love the band.

BUT, I don't buy into their tough guy, hardcore image. It was all calculated and ripped off from another band. They were a glam hairband before they made the move to the brutal sound they are now known for.

I saw Pantera in concert years ago. That was one of the craziest concerts I had ever been too, aside from Suicical Tendencies. The crowd went insane and I was on the floor when the 'pit' broke out. At the end of the show, my friends and I all went home with a few bruises from that one.

Ah..my younger years.
