Great advice, iqqi. For me, the realization that my thoughts had been controlling me (like they do for 95% of the Western world) was the key to changing my life and beginning to access my potential. I used to constantly dwell on negative thoughts and there were so many of them, but now I hardly think about myself negatively for more than two seconds. When negative thinking creeps into my brain, I recognize it and cease that thought pattern. It has made my life so much better.
As for not listening to a woman, that's just an example of people taking theory on this site way too far and failing to develop any thinking of their own. The reason this site states not to listen to women is because women have alterior motives when it comes to stating what attracts them (ie. to appear genuine, goodly, and non-slut like). All people are subconsciously lying to protect their own identity at different times. In this situation, though, what insecurity exists in women to categorically reject what they say about improving oneself? Open your minds, people.

just wanted to reiterate this. i think a lot of people on this forum misunderstand some of my posts. why is she telling us this embarrasing incident (jolly rancher incident, cat beat down, unknowingly being the other woman, ect.)

the reason why i post those incidents is backing up what i said about owning yourself. i own those actions, dammit! i am human i take risks and i make mistakes. and i still think i am the sh!t. when really fcuked up sh!t happens in my life i do not take away the same lessons others might.
1. i got cheated on, and was lied to. you know what? that does not mean i was stupid and naive. and i am not going to believe that i was in the wrong for trusting dude. HE is the one who is going to ultimately suffer now that i am gone, and that is really the bottom line. i am not going to learn to be someone who trust noone over that. i am not going to make someone else pay for HIS mistake.
2. i got rejected by jollyrancherdude. you know what? i would do it all over again. not only that but now he is obsessed with me. what was she trying to do? who is she really? i now have a funny azz story to tell, and i gave his azz something to think about.
3. my cat beat my azz. you know what? neither do i, but that sh!t was funny as hell, wasn't it?
and if anything, it is a funny story! or atleast an interesting one.
is it getting clearer? and by owning these embarrassing human incidents, they are mine and noone elses to twist into weapons that can be used against me.

As just one example, who do women go crazy over -- screen actors! Is that because when they see the actor on the screen they see the real person?
Or is the illusion they lust after?
You will have the rest of your life for quiet introspection, finding out who you are, becoming what you want to be.
In the meantime, you'll want to get a little frisky with the ladies. So find out what image they want to see and give it to them -- good and hard.

Just be who you are because that is more interesting to a person to hear and see. Do what you want and say what you want to say. "find out what image they want to see and give it to them" LOL you must feel good about yourself when you do this.

This is a great post...I can't really even put it into words how crucial this is to live a good and happy life.
Wherever you go, people are going to judge you. Well **** that, turn the tables and judge them. Life's too short to live inside other peoples' heads.
Yeah, there might be consequences to not giving a damn what other people think, but in the long run, it pays off.
Example...telling off your boss for instance. Yeah, you might get fired, but you'll find another job. And you might actually make your ******* boss think a little bit (like 'hmmm...maybe I'm doing something wrong here.') Or maybe not. But either way, you're nobody's *****.
I think Iqqi verbalized it a little better than I can right now, but I gotta say this stuff is priceless. Inner game is everything. Everything else will change in time if your mindset does.

I think I sorted this out. I dont ALWAYS conform to my friends. I do what I want most of the time. Sometimes, I just let it be. For example, me and a friend are going swimming tomorrow, and I wanted to bike it there, and he wants to jog. So, I said ok, we'll jog. But to show I do what I want, I might just take my bike, and leave the jogging to him.

The only way you can be successful at anything it first has to start with you wanting to do it not somebody else like your girl,friends, and family. If you aren't happy with your life right now it's because you are living someone elses life right now and not yours.

yo iqqi, I just wanna say, kudos on this thread. It's exactly what my philosophy is, was, and/or should be. I figure you've helped me refind myself a little, anyway.
Then I went and read some of your other posts and found out you're a woman. Even more cool. Not because women can't come up with advice this cool, or can't BE this cool, but because I had a bit of lingering mysogyny which I'd picked up in part from this forum and I tihnk reading this finally proved for me that women are as cool as men. I mean, saying women can be cool, awesome and important to us doesn't negate sexual polarity does it Pretty stupid that there was ever a problem when you put it that way.... but I figure when there's hate in your system, it often latches on to something, a blame - and it's you, hating that aspect of yourself. Me, hating my weakness or femininity.
As I've been clumsily saying recently, you don't need to BE A MAN!!! or any of that stuff... you need to be a free spirit and own yourself -- and then you WILL be however you need to be, by default. Well, I suppose other people have their individual styles. I reckon there might be some joy in giving yourself up to others or surrendering...but that's not me.
It's a sort of childlikeness, isn't it, the free spirit thing? I say "play life like a game". It's all fun. Anyone who thinks we need to fight to survive or that life was ever so important needs to go and swim in a pit full of playpen balls a bit and reflect seriously on the issue. Children have the human spirit in unaltered form. It doesn't need to be altered. It should be set free.
