Great advice, iqqi. For me, the realization that my thoughts had been controlling me (like they do for 95% of the Western world) was the key to changing my life and beginning to access my potential. I used to constantly dwell on negative thoughts and there were so many of them, but now I hardly think about myself negatively for more than two seconds. When negative thinking creeps into my brain, I recognize it and cease that thought pattern. It has made my life so much better.
As for not listening to a woman, that's just an example of people taking theory on this site way too far and failing to develop any thinking of their own. The reason this site states not to listen to women is because women have alterior motives when it comes to stating what attracts them (ie. to appear genuine, goodly, and non-slut like). All people are subconsciously lying to protect their own identity at different times. In this situation, though, what insecurity exists in women to categorically reject what they say about improving oneself? Open your minds, people.
just wanted to reiterate this. i think a lot of people on this forum misunderstand some of my posts. why is she telling us this embarrasing incident (jolly rancher incident, cat beat down, unknowingly being the other woman, ect.)Originally posted by iqqi
How do you own yourself? Easy. You just accept who you are. You have flaws as well as good points, and once you take responsibility for them you may find that they are not flaws at all. Many times flaws are what make you memorable and even loved. People often tell me I am crazy. When they tell me this I just agree, and tell them it is fun. It is free. And once they realize that I am not going to submit to whatever their idea of normal is, they either respect me more or they are jealous, or both! And it’s also great for the confidence, because I know if anything, I am unforgettable.
Once you own yourself, no one else can. They can’t tell you how to be, how to feel, how to act. They can’t tell you who you are. You start to care less about what people think of you, and so it becomes less of a factor in your every day decisions. You are free do think and be who you are, and it will come across in your actions and your personality. You will separate yourself from the masses. And instead of being AFRAID of being an individual, you will be FREE to be so.
i live in a theater near you, actually....Originally posted by Bonhomme
If you were here, I'd put on an A-Ha record and have a dance with you.
Great post!

As just one example, who do women go crazy over -- screen actors! Is that because when they see the actor on the screen they see the real person?
Or is the illusion they lust after?
You will have the rest of your life for quiet introspection, finding out who you are, becoming what you want to be.
In the meantime, you'll want to get a little frisky with the ladies. So find out what image they want to see and give it to them -- good and hard.
