Overcoming fear

In your opinion what is the best way of overcoming fear? (Fear not just in approching and talking with women, but in the general sense.)

The BEST way to conquer a fear (of ANYTHING) is to confront it head on. Because if you try and avoid the fear it gets worse untill, it becomes completely debilitating (like not being able to approach women).

Yup, and afterwards you feel relieved no matter what the outcome. When I usually overcome talking to a woman I am intimidated by I laugh afterwards because I couldn't believe I just did it.
