You have to be careful what reputation a woman has back then.

Only difference between then and now: Women declare themselves Feminists before mischaracterizing men in such a fashion, while Men make a point of declaring ourselves to be Red Pilled, before we start enumerating all the ways that b-tches be crazy

Both pretend that our membership in those churches automatically renders our perceptions of each other The Incontrovertible Word Of God

Imagine a guy born in 1950.

No memory or sacrificies from the world war II, amazing demographics, low crime rate, economy was doing fine and ready to get even better for decades.

A low education level in your late teens could still get you a job which salary allowed you to buy a house by your late 20s, feed yourself, get married and have kids while feedng all of them and still be able to save.

Your wife was thin and probably saw no D beside yours, mentally and emotionally sane, you could live your life easily with no risk of being mugged, bombed or being involved in a conflict while your wife and kids had all the reasons to behave because not only society and the law didnt suppor such actions but those were also shamed and punished.

If you wanted to walk the extra mile and work hard, improve your education and tolerate extra stress (lets say the basic level for a current day man), you could easily climb the ladder and get wealthy.

Fast forward to 2024 that same guy now rich in his 70s would be totally convinced that modern day men are lazy, dumb and pvssies.

"All you have to do is grow a pair, knock some door and dont be a loser...getting a job and a hot woman has never been so easy".

...mentally and emotionally sane...
Wrong-headed as much of what this chick has to say is on many other subjects, on the following point

She's definitely onto something with her observations from 11:11-13:30 regarding the way we've been looking after ourselves, from the advent of the counterculture during The 1960s-today. It's not just women who are guilty of doing this either... Both pop culture and large segments of The Manosphere have conned entirely too many gullible men into believing that it's cool to prolong their adolescence indefinitely, then bemoan the lousy shape their in psychologically and economically

The bitter irony of all this is, that from 2016-The Present, we've essentially been in a social climate which very closely mirrors The 1950s in terms of it's repressiveness. And this has sucked s-it through a f-cking straw!!!
I wasn't around in the '50s, but I did get to experience most of the '60s, and I'll say this: This is nothing like the '50s.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.

Pretty hard to derail a thread that has no direction to begin with, OP might be onto something here

Yeah, a man of The 50s

-Dropped out of high school in the 10th grade after impregnating the only womayohe'd been with

-Got a decent paying, yet back breaking job, which left his body destroyed by time he was 50

-Eventually discovered that the ol'ball'n'chain started f-cking half the eastern seaboard after the 2nd year of marriage, and that the 3 kids born after his first all hail from a different dude each

All snark aside, The Nostalgiacels have 1/1000th of a point: From The 70s-on forward, all Post-Industrial nations have rapidly transformed into service-based economies. This has left many folks(Especially many men)in a lurch, as they lack the skills which make them marketable to high-paying employers. This is further complicated by the fact(Here in The US anyway)criteria for getting on disability have been lowered to such an extent, this now effectively serves as as the new welfare

We can drastically reduce these ills by abolishing most forms of state aid + Increasing ready access to vocational training. Sadly, both these subjects are ones which activists of all stripes have very little enthusiasm for

The Nostalgiacels have had their wish for awhile now, and they're still somehow even more miserable than the rest of us
Yes, but at least the nerdy Beta male could get a woman then.

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.

Yeah, he ended up with a vicious harpy like Carol Stark

Note the date this flick was released: 1955

Quote: "Jim feels anguished by his constantly bickering parents, Frank and Carol, but even more so by his timid father's failure to stand up to Carol; the issues are further complicated by Frank's interfering mother. His frustrations are made manifest to officer Ray Fremick when Jim is released to their custody"

Hi Fortune,
Yes you are closest to the reality of the 50's-70's...I remember
food rationing where in Post war Britain, every person got one egg a week, thank God for the Americans who gave us powdered egg, orange juice, malt at very cheap prices...One morning I remember in the early fifties a knock at the door,"Quick Mrs Scarra, there are bananas at the Green Grocers"....Back came my triumphant Mum with four Bananas, one for each of us,the first I had ever eaten!

Some of the replies on this thread thus far:

"It's worst now (except for the Chads/Tyrones/Chadrones, etc..) than the 1950s since as a net more guys had sex because of strict monogomy/marriage. In that light it is actually less repressive as there was less sexlessness among guys. Also women needed guys to be a breadwinner to them and beta guys acutally also had more value"

Imagine a guy born in 1950.

Clearly then, there are many among us who have a romanticized view of The 50s

Sorry to be argumentative, but you are a little misguided on some of this...No memories of WW2:When we went to London in the early fifties, one quarter of the inner City was bombed out, destroyed,as a child going to the Orthodentist,I remember the bus ride from North London to Gt Ormande St,for the last five miles, from St Johns Wood to St Pauls, virtually every house was burnt out, coming to StPauls, you could see the great dome from half a mile away as the City was just flattened...Who had to rebuild it?Where was the material to come from?...Forget about us,compared to Rotterdam,Warsaw or St Petersburg we got off light...Demographics?I suppose it all comes back to svex huh?...So for young blokes, sure they easily found a Girl, pretty difficult to screw her though, because accommodation was very, very tight, where do you do it?In your Parents Lounge Room?Only the very rich had Cars and they couldn't drive them on a Petrol ration of one gallon a week...Sure they had a Great Coat and could do it in the park outside, but it gets awful chilly in the Winter time...The crime rate was indeed very low that is true....The economy was for many pretty shocking, sure there was work, and how!,but remember for us there were endless Wars,Palestine,Korea,Malaya,Kenya,Cyprus, the Berlin Air Lift....What little of the massive investments we had in the World after fighting a long war we had to eat up in the hungry years that followed it....No nostalgia for me!

I didn't write any of that, but was merely quoting another post on this thread

She may have settled for this sort of guy
after toying with him psychologically for awhile. The sons produced by such inevitably poisonous unions during The 1950s grew up to be the Paul Elams and Al Johnsons of today. It's thus tough for any reasonably sane person to get TOO excited about this period in human history
