The bitter irony of all this is, that from 2016-The Present, we've essentially been in a social climate which very closely mirrors The 1950s in terms of it's repressiveness. And this has sucked s-it through a f-cking straw!!!

Captures the feeling of optimism and sense of possibility of the post war era and chronicles the burgeoning counterculture scene as well. Oddly enough, similar factors (Sketchy social science, Panic over violent crime, etc) during both The 1950s and The Late 10s-Today led to both eras becoming far more priggish and censorship-friendly

Only difference: Folks in The 1950s were terrified that crime and horror comics, Weed, and Rock And Roll might be turning teens into greasy-haired, switch blade wielding hoodlums. Whereas in the late 10s, entirely too many of us were infected with a delusion which dictate that action movies, scantily clad centerfolds, and testosterone alone could turn Everyday Joes into mass shooting serial rapists
