its getting ridiculous, ive read a few thigns about stopping, but I'm really in need of some pointes or links to great posts/articles about it

hope all you great dj's can give me a hand here :D

Do you have any hobbies or something to do to keep your mind off it?
If you don't you should get some. Just something to stop thinking about that kind of stuff. It works for me.

A great way to stop yourself analysing everything is to repeat a sort of "mantra"

This has the effects fo answering those internal questions you always have.

My mantra is :

"She loves me. She Loves me. She loves me..."

works great!:D

Those new to a concept will usually sit there and try to gain the most knowledge before acting. I believe that is what you are doing.

It will help much to realise that the girl is most probably doing the same thing you are.

I don't care what anyone else says but I had your same problem and here's how i fixed it.

ALWAYS BE DOING SOMETHING. AND THAT DOESN'T INCLUDE HANGING AROUND ON SOSUAVE. (you can do it some)

Hobbies, TV, Video games, sleeping, anything except self-mourning okay?

And TV And video games arn't exactly good. But it's better than nothing.

If you don't have any hobbies go get a dvd series of a show. Like 24 or Buffy the Vampire Slayer or The Sopranos. All of what i recommend :)

take up guitar or something. my tips is always have something more important than girls. not just one girls, but girls in general. be more infatuated with music, with parties (just watch it), with art, with sports, with whatever you dig.

i always let it be known that girls come a distant second to my songwriting.

Haha, I was just giving an alternative. I also play guitar and I had a gig on friday. Yeah music rocks, it 's my life bro. And i also write songs and do poetry and floetry. Floetry's like rap and poetry combined. dude you got AIM?

Looking through this old post has made me think of a question, is over-analyzing really a problem? I mean is wanting to know the answer to a question, the meaning behind an action, such a bad thing?

I know that the obvious answer is it is wrong if it effects how you act, if it makes you delay approaching someone, or makes you blind to such obvious signs of interest, etc. But there must be times where knowing is better than not knowing... or attempting to understand is a good choice.

I view over-analyzing as more of a problem with being to self-concious along with being insecure. A good DJ is neither of these. The good DJ knows that there are other girls out there, and if he really has to over-analyze a situation he is already doing to much work. I am not saying don't analyze period, but over-analyzing can be a bad thing.

Yes, whacked.

A simple thing to tell yourself when you're over analyzing is that its pointless. The more you think about it, the less natural you'll be. If you're constantly thinking
"Oh, she smiled, is she happy or does she like me. Maybe it was a forced smile. Oh what if she doesn't like me and is just being nice. What if she DOES like me but is trying to pretend like she doesn't and pretends to fake a smile when really shes in love with me and just hiding it so that I don't know and she doesn't seem desperate???!?"

That will drive you crazy. That is pointless. THAT is bad.

With confidence, comes the reduction of the whole over analyzing thing. The less you care, the less you analyze, the better the results.
