Wow... I sure hope they get him in civil court... obviously the justice system has failed... yet again. I can't believe the judge went along with this. This guy could have continued his schooling during or after jail time.

Wow that is retarded. He was only charged with "aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and a second count for possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony."

What he did was a premeditated attempted murder.

Johnson (the victim) told CNN that there was an altercation outside the club and that he exchanged words with Norris (the shooter). He said he didn't think much of it, and he began walking to his car when Norris pulled up in his Hummer, got out of the vehicle and pointed a gun at his head.

"When he put the gun to my head, all I could think about was I'm not going to let this kid take me away from my mom, especially with what she's dealing with right now," Johnson said.

He said he grabbed Norris' wrist and pulled his arm down when shots rang out. "I felt the sharpest burning sensation when the first bullet hit my leg. It actually made my leg buckle," he said.
If Johnson didn't defend himself by grabbing the other guys arm, he would have been shot in the head.

The shooter should have gotten 20 years at least.

The justice system in this country is a joke plain and simple no matter how you see it or slice it or whatever analogy you use.

From corrupt cops to over inflated ego cops, to cops getting off easy, to people getting charged wrongfully the list just goes on and on it's pathetic.

I still love this story that I think I got here.

Some dumb women cop gets a call on dispatch about a hit and run and speeds off , gets to an intersection with the light red on her side just blows past and slams into a right of way suburban. Turns out she had NO seatbelt on , and if it was anyone else they would have been charged with ...

no seatbelt
Attempted manslaughter with a deadly weapon
Negligence

Yet all she got was a slap on the wrist....no pay for 2 weeks...

While I agree with how fvcked up the ruling was on this, and how fvcked up our justice system is, this was NOT a 'premeditated attempted murder.' Premeditated means planned in advance, and attempted murder means the suspect really tried to KILL someone. This was not the case. He didn't plan it days in advance, so it wasn't premeditated, and he only pulled the trigger in the middle of a physical confrontation, so it technicallly wasnt attempted murder.

I am in no way supporting the ruling here, Im just saying to Maxtro that he is over-exaggerating the situation. The guy should do some serious time for that, but it needs to be labelled as the crime it was.

when Norris pulled up in his Hummer,
I like this line, however. It kind of points out that the suspect is a spoiled little rich boy, who's daddy probably DID get him out of this. He was a college boy, and there is no way in hell he bought his own hummer.

Out of curiosity, I would like to know what his parents do for a living.
