so I'm sitting here playing super mario galaxy with my wife.. actually a stocking stuffer gift I bought for her.. she's quite the video game player, espeically fun games like super mario and sonic and stuff like that. Anyway so we are playing hte game,and anyhone who has played super mario knows what hte deal is.

mario is just going along doing his thing, and you would think, after what... 7 at least series of the super mario game, the princess would get her **** together and stop running into king koopa. this ***** just doesn't learn. she is going to call on super mario, mario is going to drop everything he is doing, go seas, air, undreground, all types of **** to save her, get a kiss on the cheek, he never gets any, he never gets to call her his GF or antyhing. she just leaves and does her own thing and she does the **** all over again.

you woudl think eventually mario would grow a sack and say look woman, you got yourself ij this ****, you need to get out of it, or at least give me some ors omething. this peck on the cheek **** isnt' going to work.

The thing I dont understand is this. No matter how much society tells women to go for nice guys they will still follow their genetic imperative and go for jerks *******s and alphas anyways. There is such a thing as instinct. It's instinct that makes you want women with a nice shape.

Maybe you could teach yourself you prefer women thinner or thicker, darker or lighter, but you are born with a basic blueprint of what you like. It can change, but it's all depending on your individual circumstances.

So I guess you might say that a person's taste in women depends on his upbringing....

I suppose there are people who convinced themselves obesity is attractive... People can convince themselves of anything!! But I still think most of the signals we like to get from women were instilled in us through evolution.

1. What is mainstream? How many people have to be introduced to a story or idea to qualify it as mainstream? So any piece of literature before the internet age could not have been widely read or taught to children in literature classes?

In fact, many stories of "chump saves slut" have been "mainstream" throughout the ages. The Spanish Lady, One Thousand and One Nights, Clarissa, The Monk, Justine, and the list goes on and on and on. These fine pieces of work have been made since books have been written. I fail to see how the stories of years past are any fundamentally different than today.

2. I like how you use the word corrupted, as essentially this forum has deemed the "damsel in distress" theme of literature as some sort of feminist garbage made to emasculate men everywhere, when if fact many of these stories are products of fantastic writers who happen to be men themselves. And then this golden illogical fallacy is created:

a. Man saves chick. What a chump! Has he no balls to understand he is being used for her own personal gain? She shouldn't have gotten herself into a mess in the first place! Maybe other girls in the future will learn. Men should not waste their precious and alpha time on a man using wench such as herself.

That game is called Grand Theft Auto.

And Upside, stories like The Count of Monte Cristo and Robinson Crusoe are books that appeal to the masculine part of men. Those who wrote the saving princess garbage were more than likely the AFCs of the time.

If you read The 48 Laws of Power, there's a chapter that mentions how a prince tried to get a girl by doing the typical lavishing of attention and affection, and finally got her when he stopped being a chump (through the guidance of an older woman who knew "the game") and then lost her yet again when he faltered and revealed his true chump colors.

The long and the short of it is that throughout time, there has always been media that appeals to both chumps and regular guys.

As for the Mario thing, I'm sure they'd f*ck each others brains out, but remember that it's a kid's video game combined with the modestly of Japanese culture.
