What is it that gives a DJ his power and influence in any given situation?

What is it that seperates DJs from the rest of the male population? Even the up and coming DJs?

If you actually have obtained lets just call it DJ Nirvana, you can tell me the answer to these questions(its the same thing).

1.) Control and appealment to subject's sensibilities.

2.) Knowledge of what we are doing in complete, defined terms, and ability to manipulate those items to our liking by defining, understanding, isolating, and manipulating the specific parts of the problem. You can call it control.

1. His Charisma, Confidence, and Self Assuredness... he know's he is right, other people sense that.

2. Expierience, more things are natural to a DJ. He is fine with everything, C+F is a part of him, he neg hits with ease (and it rarely backfires) This gives him confidence... which makes people look up to him. That gives him even more confidence.

id say its knowing who he is. when a man knows who he is, he is confindent, self-assured and comfortable with who he is.

when he knows who he is he is and has become the person that he has wanted to be.

1 - Knowledge of human nature, specifically the human EGO. How, when and why to appease it and/or mistreat it.

2 - The feeling of serenity that comes along our knowledge. The understandment of how things work and why certain events happen instead of calling it just "luck", fate or coincidence.
And the ability to manipulate and influence the "factors" that make things happen, making them more favorable to our desires.

First... I'm glad a lot of the veterans decided to take the time out to answer Jester's rather interesting question (hell... it even dug me out of the woodworks). Anyway... unto the question.

1. The understanding of human nature and human dynamics. Not only the understanding, but also the ability to manipulate human nature and those dynamics to benefit his own life.

2. Almost too many things to name... but here are some: Confidence, knowledge, and one that I think is very important, but people always seem to leave it out... self-control. There are many other factors that place us ahead of the learning curve... having the motivation to continue to improve ourselves... and the want... the simple want to want it more than a lot of other people... these things are what seperate us in my opinion.

I would like to intigrade Pooks and Lorenzo's arguement into the following:


I think mindset is the foundation of the Dj mindset. The walls/roof are techniques/etc.

Sometimes however you have to know the specifics of the walls/roof before you can create a fitting foundation.

^^^ Smooth... the understanding of such things is what aids in the creation of a large amount of confidence... so yes, without confidence such things are useless... but knowledge of such things is what breeds confidence. I understand why you and Oreo would basically state that confidence is everything (which for the most part is very correct) but we must remember that confidence cannot be found in stores or taken from a random box... like a house, it must be built. The various things that many of us responded to Jester's question with are the very things that build that confidence.
