*my thoughts are kind of muddled at the moment, this post may not necessarily be coherant*

It seems to me that online forums are very much a waste of time, there are probably hundreds, even thousands of forums dealing with some aspect of life improvement and many of them probably contain very useful advice, but it would be all too easy I think to spend days reading posts and books on self improvement without doing anything.
I have fallen into this trap and become a regular lurker on this forum. What worries me is people on forums like this who have posted 2000+ posts and have failed to have any improvement, it's a ridiculous way to waste time.
I think part of the trouble is there is a wealth of information and its possible to get addicted to it and waste time, is SoSuave any better than online games or TV. There was one forum I looked at based on the "flat earth theory", which seems to me a pretty pointless website, yet some loser had over 15000 posts.
I have realised now that visiting SoSuave I learn nothing new, I just read 1 good motivational post a day and waste the rest of the time, if this is you, get off SoSuave or whatever forum or website you waste time on and go do something.

*pointless selfdirected rant over*
*and yes, I am aware of the irony of posting this on a forum*

The books in the bible though like the book of Pook, Don Juan Bible by KillaPeteHog, Weapons of Mass Seduction, are great and useful.
The good thing about free ebooks from my perspective is that they are finite and you don't need keep visiting them to see if one more great post has appeared.

How can you learn anything when learning requires application. You can't just read and have your brain rewire to think in a new way.

Some people benefit more then others from this site. Whether it's from not practicing what they're reading, not reading, or not applying what they read correctly. Some people take years to accomplish something but this forum is worth something, if only for a few.

Plus you'd be surprised how fast you build posts when you post "thread doesn't belong here" or "this is utter garbage, thread closed"... You get the idea.

I'm the first guy to extend a hand to a brother bt this sh!t really gets under my skin. When a guy comes on and says all of this is a waste of time.

Perhaps it is but one doesn't need to make himself seem high and mighty and throw his defeatist attitude around.

Be productive or ,as I spoke so eloquently earlier, go play hide and go fvck yourself.

Well the thing is, the OP is right. If any of you actually think posting incessantly on this forum will make you more successful with women, you should probably remove it from your bookmarks and delete your account. 5 minutes of hanging out with some chick is greater than a solid 5 days of reading theory on the internet.

The only decent posts here are the ones that start massive arguments, because they're entertaining, and the field reports, which actually show you real **** that happens, from people who at the very least put on a good show of having some semblance of a life.

We learn by doing. Experience teaches harsh, but it teaches best. All the theory in the world is useless without application and experimentation in the field.

That said, where else are you going to get the information available to you here? In the self-help/"psychology" section at Barnes & Noble? What therapist is going to care more about risking the swift kick in the ass you need to mature, rather than telling you what you want to hear to keep you coming back for $75/hour sessions? Is Dr. Phil going to tell you to man-up or tell you to learn to pee sitting down so as not to distress your girlfriend about the toilet seat?
