Hey guys... long story really short: I finished high school a year early and attend college right now. However, I have no officially graduated HS and I will be attending prom in 6 weeks. I do not have a date yet - I cannot go with a girl from my high school.

I found a girl I would like to go with, she is 17 years old and a sophomore at Roch Inst. Tech. After spending an hour with her, just hanging out on campus, I realized that out of the few thousand women Ive met over the last few years - this one is the best match for me:

-She is very smart
-She is fun
-She is prudent... she just went on her first date/kiss about 3 months ago (valentines day)... and her rents are VERY over protective and we were brought up with similar (predominantly Italian-American) values and beliefs
-She is gorgeous

I would like to take her to prom... but the situation is a bit deranged. She and I are both VERY busy and she lives about an hour away. Her exams begin monday morning next week and she leaves for virginia beach (2 weeks) the day after her last exam. Her parents have demanded she studies all weekend, no partying or socializing. It would be unreasonable for me to ask her to prom with only two and a half weeks notice, so I would like to do it before she leaves for vacation.

We have sketchy, tentitive plans for friday afternoon, she will be skipping a few classes so we can hang out before her parents can take her car for the weekend. I will be picking her up at school at 12:00.

What resources are there to find good spots to go on an afternoon date in rochester? I am from a neighboring city and have no idea where to take her. She is VERY old fashioned, and will expect me to make plans and innitiate the entire date. All I can think of is a lunch date - can you guys think of anything better? I would REALLY like ANYTHING where I can keep a solid convo and build to a kiss, so that I can ask her to prom right after. Im pressed for ideas/info - help is greatly appreciated.

Celebrate your culture together and take her to an Italian restaurant, eat italian bread, drink itakian wine, err grape juice, and then play Bocci ball - you get the picture.

She'll think this is special and thoughtful!

PRL, Ill be honest, I really dont like you. But that was some thoughtful advice, thank you! The only problem is, coming from an Italian family, it is hard to go to Italian resteraunts. Unless you find a very exclusive place to dine, the food isnt as good as home cooking. Exclusive places to dine require special dress and a lot of time and money - so that is out of the question for THIS date. Thanks though!

No offense kid, I said some pretty harsh things in your prior post and jumped to conclusions without knowing you - it was not meant out of harm - just challenging you to prove your posts.

It's all good, if I were you I wouldn't like me either!

I still love you baby - don't leave me - I'll change!! (PR_L goes to bended kness and puts hands together in a supplicating form!:( (where is the tear emoticon?)

Do a picnic homie!! Picnics are cheap and romantic.

I forgot you were 17 and have little, if any money. Girls like picnics!;)

Haha, Im 18, and Ive got enough to go anywhere Id please (I work 2 jobs). But it would be more expedient to dine more reasonably for obvious reasons.

And at least you are steadfast in youre convicstions. As much as I feel you are in the wrong, its nice to post against well developed thoughts/ideals. Cheers.

Picnic is a good idea... anyone think of anything else?

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.

Take her to a Planitarium or large Museum. If her IQ is above 85, she might even find it interesting. It's nice and dark in there .. sets up some romantic vibes.

Hrmmm...

1 - Racial profiling is bad, but oh so funny!

2 - There is a few blocks downtown with a really fun vibe - a lil shopping district with some bistro's and coffee shops. That is a definate possibility!

3 - I could definatly work the picknick. But what kinda food do I bring? Also, Id want to get her off campus, to separate her physically from all the stress of exams in the hope itd help her mentally relax, you know? Can I just go to any park and toss out a blanket or is it more complicated than that?

yes it is that simple

make sure the park is clean ie. no dog **** or needles

preferebly with a lake or water is always cool

maybe some ducks to feed ( bring a loaf of bread for the ducks )

chicks go mental over feeding animals especially ducks

But what kinda food do I bring?

if she is vegetarian then don't bring meat.

if she is italian and likes Lasagne or whatever just bring alittle of that

mainly finger foods stuff THAT IS NOT MESSY

b*tches prefer that on picnics they are very self conscious

cheese / crackers / biscuits / dip / cabanossi

a nice bottle of non alcoholic champange is always a winner

and champagne glasses or if plastic make sure they look half decent

this **** is bringing back memories :)

I've got 10 to 1 odds that regardless of what you end up doing she will be going to that prom with you. I'd probably opt for the picnic. Like lost said keep it simple with food but give a little variety. Check the weather forecast to make sure that you wont be trouncing around in mud or caught in the rain though. I'd think that if you googled rochester that you could find a map where you could pick out a park. Best of luck :D

hahaha ok

last time i seen an Italian guy take a chick to the zoo on a date was in the movie ROCKY

he even proposes to her at the zoo in ROCKY 2

her brother Paulie says she is a retard and retards like the zoo

i dunno. i guess if she really likes animals.

whats wrong with a picnic by the water ?

what if you get attacked by a TIGER oh wait TonyTheTigerOI :)

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

The zoo is out, i checked the website - its like the crappiest zoo on earth. Even worse than the one in buffalo (which is always in the news for its incredible lack of safety features).

I am lookin all over for maps of the city, googling public parks, to no avail. But Im glad you guys are sold on the picknick idea. Ill keep lookin for parks/directions?

However, I DID get a lot of great info on the downtown area, lots of great bistro's/coffee shops, so if the weather is iffy Ive got a backup plan.

LIT - Lol, I had to laugh when you braught up rocky. Thats by far the best wedding proposal in any movie... ever: "So uhhh, maybe you wouldnt mind marrying me too much?" Priceless.

Beliv - I hope youre right. I kinda like this one :)

EDIT!!! Ok, Im using the crappy maqpuest legend to find park areas... but I have no idea if they are nice? <sigh>

ok there has to be parks in your city

stop using google and get an actual physical street directory

go to idex look up parks then look at map

( or get a map off google you lazy boy )

find one with water. maybe a nice bridge over the troubled water.

so you can lay the chick down.

maybe bring a small cd player with you. play some music. but NO simon and garfunkel.

that has worked for me.

sets the mood and helps fill gaps ( rocky ) in the conversation

and make sure the park has some ducks.

or at the very least a homeless person who thinks he is a duck.

daffy preferably because donald is too hard to understand.

the NON ALCOHOLIC champange is gold trust me.

GO TONY YOU CAN DO IT !

Don't take her to the zoo, she may be eaten by one of the animals and then she won't be able to go with you to the prom!:(

Remember, you said you only had ONE shot at this!

ducks are ok. a duck will not attack a human unless it is provoked first. and they rarely kill the person they usually just maim them for life.

Hey, PRL, ever notice how the young ones on here tend to not like you for your views?

It's pretty g*d damn scary, these young dudes are completely indoctrinated into a feminist thought pattern, like Liberals, they just can't accept views that are contrary to their false doctrines.

Truly scary, especially the teenaged and early twenties boys on here. These are probably the same pussies that only get in fights when they outnumber their quarry 10 to 1, and then pull knives.
