i am just saying i heard about it here...like 3 days ago..and its so cool..so far they gave a 8.7 but you know i think i saw a thread...where they gave you a standarised to calculate your number..better...(ok its not that i am into myself because i know self confidence is the one that decides if you get the girl or not)

I never really knew if I was good looking or not, so I went on there and I scored a 7.8 in looks, so I guess I am kinda good looking then. I think it's pretty reliable if you get alot of votes.

Hot or Not is not reliable at all when it comes to the babes ratings, after I saw this post I had a look at it and rated about 30 babes before I came back to write this.
Of those 30 babes my own score was only higher than the average with one of them whom I gave an 8 and all others combined gave her a 7.
Some of the scores were very inconsistent I thought, one babe was given 9.9 by 700 plus people, this was too high in my opinion, I gave her a 7.
Two other babes one I gave a 2 was rated a 9 by them and another that I rated as being a 3 they gave 9.2.
The babes were given much higher scores than they should have got given their physical appearance in the photos that I saw.
I never looked at any of the dudes photos or ratings, but the babes ratings were not a true reflection of how hot they really were.

You're probably referring to my post. I said that the hotornot rating scale is different from the traditional rating scale. An average rating at hotornot is 5 (or slightly above 5, I think). An average rating using the DJ scale is more like 7 for the youthful population. A big chunk of girls fall between 6 and 8, (moreso than fall between 4 and 6).

So if you're young and hotornot tells you "You're hotter than 50% of the guys on this site" and gives you a 5.3 or whatever, that actually equates to about a 7 in the regular framework. If it gives you a 7, you're probably about an 8 or so.

Also, you should think about the fact that attractive people are more likely to put their pics on a site like that than ugly people.

If you get an 8.7 then you're probably very good-looking. You need to wait until you get about 150+ votes, tho, before you get all ****y about it.

imo, they tend to rate girls higher than they deserve if they are excessively skinny. But that's not just a problem with the site; it's a bias among the general male population. We have an obsession with skeletons nowadays.

Haha, I suppose you're right, but that's mostly because a lot of guys are shallow as hell. So then women are slightly less so . But just barely.

Anyways, the reason I said that is that I've had a lot of female friends before, and we've had some pretty candid talks from everything from looks to **** size. Sometimes they comment on how "hot" a passing guy is. They admit that they won't date a guy unless he's good looking enough for them, or has a car, or has white teeth, or is taller than 6', or whatever silly reason is in their head. But the fact remains is that looks DO matter to women. Thats why most of the time you see guys out with girls that are about as attractive or ugly as they are.

Would you date a girl that's not good looking enough for you? Probably not. (I do because I'm not shallow, but that's just me)

Although it is quite easy to become more attractive to women. Work out, get some stylish clothes, a haircut that matches your personality, and bam a 5 becomes a 7.

Chicks that show lots of skin get better scores too. I've seen some 5s that got 7+ just because they were in their skivvies.

It scored me a 7.6 - 8.1 depending on the pic I posted, and that jibes pretty well with what I figured I'd be - decent but no George Clooney.

pretty much goes with anyone,lol. i find if you post a ab pic, you get a higher score unless your face is just heavenly.

When you ask how reliable it is. It's kind of hard to answer that. Hot or Not and other "rate my pic" sites depend on your selection of picture(s). Generally if you have a decent looking face you'll be in the 7-9 range. Anything above a 9 usually means you have at least a decent face, a nice body, and you're willing to show it in your pic. These are just general rules, there are exceptions.

I'm one of the dudes who has NO idea how physically attractive he is.

I have a great body now(hard fvcking work), and I scored an 8.4 on HotOrNot with a weird picture and 250 votes. Of course it was just a face shot...

Nobody has come right out and told me I'm hot...I've gotten cute acouple of times(3), and way back in like grade 8 I was called ugly, but thats only because I had terrible self-esteem and dismal hygeine.

Question: For you guys who would call yourself Hot or Attractive...What makes you think so?
