I decided to put in AE since I thought everyone should be able to see it

http://hundredpushups.com

If you're serious about increasing your strength, follow this six week training program and you'll soon be on your way to completing 100 consecutive push ups!

Think there's no way you could do this? I think you can! All you need is a good plan, plenty of discipline and about 30 minutes a week to achive this goal!

No doubt some of you can already do 50 consecutive push ups, but let's face it, you're in a big minority. Most of you reading this won't even be able to manage 20 pushups. Actually, I'm sure many of you can't even do 10.

However, it really doesn't matter which group you fall into. If you follow the progressive push ups training program, I'm positive you'll soon be able to do 100 push ups!
I'm in!

Probably should have put this thread in H&F redspicyflag.

And how do you expect to get better without proper nutrition. Imo this is a bad idea for unfit people. Could lead to injury.

You guys looking to get stronger without weight training should go read Never gymless by Ross Enamait on www.rosstraining.com.

And if you are realllllly serious about increasing strength and getting a better body, get on a powerlifter's routine and hit the weights while eating a healthy amount of protein, carbs, calories, fats, etc. Come to H&F where there are plenty of guys on there who can help you. That's my alternative challenge to your 100 pushups.

I started doing 100 pushups everyday a few weeks ago. The only problem is that when it came to doing my chest workouts in the gym I could barely do them.

I'm in.

I may not do it in on M-W-F though. I want to get started asap. I'll do the initial test tonight and post the results. I expect it to be low (less than 5), I'm not in great shape.

I'm going to try to eat healthier during the six weeks also and do some cardio every day such as either running or walking.

Alright so I did the trial to find out my level. As expected I didn't make 5 push ups. I did 3. These were real push ups, not the girly knee push ups. As I said before I'm not in great shape. My arms are skinny and I'm over weight. However I'm committed to this push up challenge for the next 6 weeks as well as eating better and doing cardio such as walking and running.

I'm definitely starting tomorrow because I don't want to wait until Monday. I will be on the Sun - Tues - Thurs schedule. Good luck to whoever decides to accept the challenge with me.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I'm in. Did 21 on the initial test so this should be a good foundation.

Week 1, Day 1

Here is the work out for day 1:

Day 1

rest 60 seconds between each level (longer if required) up to 5 push ups

level 1 2
level 2 2
level 3 2
level 4 2
level 5 max (at least 3)

I was able to do the first 2 sets of 2. I ATTEMPTED to do the remaining sets but was not successful. I may have to repeat this week next week! I'll update again on Tuesday...

Good luck guys. Hopefully after these 6 weeks you'll be motivated to get in the gym and see even better results.
