I saw this thread start as I was preparing to leave 'Merika for a three week buisness trip.

My first thought was, ***** is ***** and women are women the world over.

One of the things that attracts native women to American men, or foreign men, is when the men arrive in their country for 95% of the countries on earth, your arrival there indicates that you have already obtained a certain level of wealth and status by virtue of the fact you arrived there. and by your means to arrive you are probably already in line with the top of society...maybe not the richest of the rich but in most cases you are rich in their eyes.

Having lived in a latin american country for a year in college and carrying out a relationship with a girl in that country for most of my time there, while ****ing around with hot chicks at my leisure during that time, I have to say I will not likely find myself in a long-term relationship/ marriage with a woman from a foreign culture again. I say this because there are so many cultural cues that you miss when you are not native in a culture even if you are fluent in the local language. I think you can pick up on these when the culture is based in your native tongue-for instance English/Canadien, American/New Zealand. I believe you will have a better chance a qualifying a lady when you all think on the same language wave-length. My girlfriend in Costa Rica was beautiful, very feminine and did many things that most American women have long forgotten, however when **** hit the fan down there it made a bigger mess than I have experienced stateside.

With globalization, commercialism and the spread of the culture of consumerism I really do not believe that you will escape the downsides of modern culture and its effect on women by leaving 'Merika to find a bride. Sure there are success stories, but I've got to say there must be 5-10 failures for each success.

And Vlad-the Garotas will **** like a bytch in heat but you have to push the game...and they expect you to otherwise they may think you have the ghey.

I think women are attracted to the exotic much the same as men are and even a 'good' one who is married may fall sway to the bigger, better deal upon your arrival whether she is committed or not...at least that has been my personal experience.

I really enjoy leaving the states and meeting women across the world and maybe one day I will enter a relationship with one of these foreigners but I don't think it is a cure-all for the American ***** Syndrome.

Women are women at their core. They are all CAPABLE of lying, cheating, and manipulating. that doesn't meant that there are cultures in this world today where women are kept more in check and are act in a more feminine manner.

If you think that the "Myth of the Quality Woman" doesn't mesh with seeking foreign women for relationships, then you are misunderstanding the myth.

I know.. I have dated Brazilian girls before and they put out fast but this girl is different. I think she really is on the religion tip... So I have been ignoring her calls for the past 2 days, just letting it go to v/m. Before I'd be talking to her most of the time.

I'll ignore her ass for awhile and see if her behavior changes. If not, I don't care because I don't give 2 craps about her. She's going out of town this weekend (to a church 10 hours away) So there is no way I'll see her again for awhile, so no point in blabbing on the phone with her.

I am saying that women have basic instincts that are common throughout the world...like one would be that no woman anywhere I've been wants a wuss for a partner, as Samspade said. Cultural differences are one of the joys of travel abroad for me; they allow me to expand my own horizons. And of course there are differences between women based on culture and upbringing but to imply they don't have basic human drives is daft.

From your take on my 'American ignorance' and your use of the word lot, my first guess would be that your are British-so why don't you drop the colonial mentality for a moment, cause not every American has been stuck in the States their whole life. All I was doing was voicing my opinion which is as valid as yours.
Even though you say you met your lady-friend down south, does the fact that you are in a relationship with a foreign woman on North American soil discount your opinion? I think not but your own statement, "IMO dating a foreign woman requires you to be on foreign soil," contradicts that.

FWIW- I interact with people of cultures far and wide on a day to day basis because of the business I am in.

I ended my last LTR with an American chick a little over a month ago.

Update on the Brazilian.

I have been ignoring her calls for the past 3 days and I haven't spoken or contacted her at all.

Today she texts me

"Hello love! How are you doing? I have some great news for you. Maybe I will call you tonight. Have a great day!"

I waited awhile and texted her back "hey, I've been very busy. What's the great news?"

Then she replied

"I am sure that you will love it! Haha so I will call you tonight or you call me?"

I replied "ok. we will talk tonight"


Now, what could this news be? Is she going to say she has been cleared to fool around?

I can't imagine what else it could be. Anything else I won't care about. Maybe this is some sort of weird sh!t test.

Contrast this to the fact that American men are almost universally LOVED by women the world over, and it becomes readily apparent just how undesirable American women are when it comes to the mating game. And this is what American men have to deal with every day.

I'm sure this thread will turn into the usual circle-jerk of halfway reformed AFC's defending the fact that there are indeed TWO decent women in each and every state of the Union, but I would like to engage in a REAL discussion about the HUUUUUUGE disparity between the REST of the world's attitude toward American women vs. American men insofar as the mating game is concerned.

As American men we have little means of comparison, unless we happen to visit foreign lands (which I have).

It seems to me that men from other countries might be a more accurate gauge of the quality of our women we are stuck with.

My current GF is religious. I'm not. But she doesn't try to get me to believe and I don't try to talk her out of going to church. I think her beliefs are superstitions and nonsensical, but I'm not there because of her beliefs, so we don't have to agree. Her beliefs don't seem to stop her from fornicating, and a male/female relationship is about letting each other be who they are, to believe what they wish, and fornicating! So it works for me.

I liked this Brazilian girl alot in the beginning. I couldn't wait to meet her but after the date I wasn't sure. Now that a few days has passed, I have forgotten about her. I need a physical connection with a girl if she wants to remain on my radar and this girl has fallen off.

I guess that is why she is playing these games. I'm not sure what she hopes to accomplish. I have another girl ready to put out for me so the Brazilian girl is done.

I don't go to a buffet and eat just one food, I love to try all the different flavors, much the same with women, but at the end of the day it is still food even though it may taste different.

Even though you haven't said it explicitly, I think you are implying that there are cultural differences which there are and you have to tread lightly so as not too offend the locals. For example, Thai people do not show much affection in public. I remember a couple of girls I knew in Thailand wanted to take a group picture when the day I was leaving. I put my arms around them without thinking about it and they were both quite embarassed, but they still send me emails over three years later so it must not have been too bad for them.

Anyways this has been a good thread. Hopefully tomorrow I'm off to Victoria falls and Saturday if I can book a spot, maybe run the rapids of the gorge on the Zambezi River.
