OMFG, somebody shoot me i havent slept in 3 days...4days maybe even

God i need some serious help.

The past 3 days i havent been able to lseep at night. Basically what i've been doing is lying there in bed with the lights out and my eyes closed.

Iim not physically tired, and im not sleepy. Yet these 3 days have been hell for me because my eyes have been very strained, dry, and even hurts sometimes.

As i type this it's 3 a.m. here, and once again i fail to sleep. I've been an occasional insomniac since i was a teen but this is the worst of me i've seen. Im not physically exhausted, nor do i get sleepy.

these pastcouple nights when i close my eyes, i think and worry a little about the transition from wake to sleep. when i dont think about anything i still cant fall asleep. I think this is something serious here, and i might have to go drastic and get some sleeping pills if this continues.

any help would be appreciated

chew some valerian root, and get some exercise. you need natural healthy sleep.

oki the reason u prolly dont feel sleepy or tired, is cuz u have alot of energy left in your body , so what do you do when u have extra energy , work out as hell , do something really hard that takes alot of energy , like boxing or something....

then eat a healthy dinneror just a snack with some bread and drink milk , drinking milk makes me somewhat sleepy....

and if ur still not sleepy then warm up some milk put a little honey in it and drink it slowly while ur lying on the sofa.....

if all that dont work go see a doctor.....

Clear your mind so you can rest better. Whenever i have something on my mind thats important i cant sleep. Or i sleep and wake up every 15 minutes which also blows.

3 days is a long time without sleep my friend, your body most likely will crash and shut down if you dont get sleep soon.

Sounds like me on nights i cant sleep. near the morning , i sleep and wake up every 10-15 mins, every time having a different dream.

yea i probably did have a lot of extra energy left in my body. those 3 days i drank milk didnt do ****. But i drink milk every night. The 4th nite i had a small snack and milk, was able to sleep for 4 hrs. 5th night, best sleep ever! 8 hours.

But anyway my insomnia sessions happen occasionally every week, but never anything like 3 days in a row. i admit it was a little scary cuz i could feel my heart pumping, and it was working hard at it too.

on some nights i dont get sleep, the following day im usually grumpy, and get physically exhausting by the time i get to school...not technically physical as in strength, but as in my heart which attempts to pump blood quicker after walking a flight of stairs....but the rest of the day im back to normal.

But aside from that, i dont think my occasional insomnia is that bad to require me to see a doctor, or is it?

yeah man like somebody else said earlier in this post you need to excercise and that will straight drain you out and then you will be able to sleep


but seriously i went to the gym High as Fvck one day and i seriously just sat in the locker room because i was too stoned to move...yeah i seriously had to quit smoking w33d.

haha i went three days without sleep last week to get my uni work done, i got dragged out on the last night to a club and picked up the hottest chick there, how you ask, BECAUSE I WAS TOO FRICKIN DELIRIOUS TO HAVE A CLUE WHAT WAS GOING ON, I WAS COMPLETELY RELAXED AND OUTGOING AND DIDN'T CARE, I JUST DID WHAT I FELT WAS COOL.

If only i could emulate that feeling 24/7!

I've had chronic insomnia most of my life.

Things like "Da Chronic" and Nyquil and Benadryl and Turkey and Milk and such don't do a damn thing for me.

I've been taking 10 mg Ambien on a nightly basis about 5 years ago, and it has been a miracle.

It's expensive (about $3.50 per pill, nightly) , as there is no generic equivelent yet as it's still a fairly new drug, but it's worth every penny.

If the problem persists, see a Dr. so they can try to find out if there is a medical reason for the cause, and/or so they can write you a prescription.

The only OTC stuff worth trying is Melatonin and maybe the previously mentioned Valerian root, which also comes in a tablet/capsule form.

What type of work do you do? Do you have anything to look forward to when you walk up?

Whenever I can't sleep it's almost always b/c I've felt I haven't done anything significant or worthwhile during the daylight time, especially when I've had to telecommun from home and not gone out all day.

Tells us how it goes.

Hah i go through this about 40 of the 52 weeks of my year, it's hell, i'm up right now at 3:43am...... i hate it so much

when you lay in bed imagine naked girls dancing, fat birds falling into pools of boiling snot and ****...

I used to lay in bed freaking out for hours about absolutley trivial stuff.... than I just thought wierd thoughts while I sat outside, than I'd start dozing off... next I'd go inside and grab a book with really small writing and read it from the side of my eyes...

I'd get knocked the **** out

You dream during the REM phase of sleep. It's the only phase you need. You should be gradually regressing into it - the fact you fall straight into these dreams is a dangerous sign that your brain and body (as REM slows down heart rate and taxes the body less) is being overworked. This is VERY dangerous.

Get your GP to prescribe you some melatonin pills. Insomnia is a disbalance of melatonin in the brain. If you ingest melatonin pills you WILL fall asleep.

See a doctor though.
