I've never found that to be true. Most of the best dates I've gone on were ones where we barely talked before hand. If the girl isn't comfortable once she has been around you for 5-10 minutes its because of something you are doing or not doing, not the fact you haven't texted her back and forth enough times.
You got me there. I felt that leaving little snippets of sarcasm give her a peak into my personality. So when she asks me why I don't have a GF and I respond that it doesn't work well with my side gigolo business, she doesn't get all weird.

Bro, I live in a sweet place, right next to the docks. First date is always low key, low investment and now at a bar 2 minutes walk from my house. That way, if they flake (and some always will) I don't lose anything. And I try and double book if possible. It's the best method.
How long does it take you to ask the girl out? The same day she replies to your initial message?

Most guys ask for the number then progress to text then ask for a date.

I choose to get straight to the point and invite them to drink with me without even asking for the number. Not all women whom I invite will accept, but in my experience, the ones who DO accept my invite will almost always offer their number to me, without my ever even asking for it, and they will very rarely cancel or flake on me.
Yes, the mission is to meet again soon. The number then just comes as an afterthought to further facilitate the meeting already organized.

It must be very disappointing for the woman to see the man just going after her number.

You then eliminate all the need for all that silly text game.

WTF are you talking about? If you end up meeting her, you get the number then. Most cases she will give it to you.

Yeah, most women are disappointed when a guy they are interested in asks for their number after a date, Lmao...What planet are you from brother?

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.

Well, the point I was making is that a lot of the novices are just thinking about securing the number -- the number for the number's sake. Like a puppy dog with its tail wagging, they come back all excited about getting the number. Surprise, surprise it goes nowhere. Instead of building attraction [and perhaps an instant date], they were distracted by 'getting the number.'

This is another reason why it's not simply a 'numbers' game. If the interactions were of more quality then near all those numbers will go somewhere.

I guess this refers more to cold approach than OLD.
