Alright, I just set up an OKC profile last night and I read a few guides that I found here. I was hoping that some of you could give me some guidance and advice on my profile or what I should change/do.

Here's the profile: Click

In case you can't access it for whatever reason:

Basics: 19 - 5'11" - Athletic body type

My-self summary:
"I'm a secret double agent working for the British government who drives a fancy sports car and whose shirts never wrinkle and both sides of my pillow are cool. When in Rome they do as I do and it would have been built in a day if they followed my blueprints correctly. I once found a shortcut while sailing the world. My hands feel like rich brown suede and my business card simply states "I'll call you." Sharks have a week dedicated to me and the contents of my tacos never fall out. I can speak Russian, in French. My backyard treehouse has a finished basement and my bear hugs are what I give to bears. I'm a lover, not a fighter, but I'm also a fighter, so don't get any ideas.

But actually I'm a freshmen in college that does competitive swimming year round. In my free time I play the guitar, video games, ski, mountain bike, and hang with friends. But that's just my cover up. "

I wasn't too sure how I felt about the playful summary but I figured it provided something a little outside of the norm but I'm totally open to changing it if you guys think this is just lame.

What I'm doing with my life:
"hakuna matata"

You should message me if:
"-You have a sense of humor.
-You want a good time. Msg me and I'll take care of the rest. :)"

My Pics: Click
If you think I should add some/remove some let me know.

Thanks a lot guys, really appreciate it!

didn't click on your link but what you've given in this thread is not bad.. I'd condense the first 'playful' paragraph a little bit, it's a tad long.

Forget the "video games" part.

Don't know what 'hakuna matata' means but I'd lose it, especially if it references a Disney film. Unless the phrase is actually somewhat common in your culture/locality.

Keep in mind "if you want a good time" means "if you want NSA sex." I've found there are better ways to advertise sex-based meetups to women.

Lose the smiley at the end.

Awesome, thanks for the advice. The hakuna matata was from a Disney film but I took it out, on your advice. Same with the smilie. I'll try to come up with something to replace "if you want a good time" but that was what I genuinely meant...to go out and have fun. I didn't even think of that, thanks for pointing it out.

Change "you want to have a good time" to "you like to have fun"

Anyone have critique on the photos?

regardless of what anyone says..photos are by far the most important thing...you could probably write down the lyrics to the Christmas song jingle all the way in your profile and still get a lot of responses with good photos..

about the photos...you are a good looking guy...no homo....but i would only keep one shirtless pic, though just enough to show off your body...there is no need to show off too much, or you may come off as narcistic....just one good shirtless pic to let them see what they are working with...and do you have one where you are not holding your thumbs up all gay looking like that? it just looks kind of cheesy to me...i look at guys POF profiles all the time with my little sister just to get a woman's viewpoint of things and she would probably say when looking at your profile this guy is cute but he looks like he might be kind of cheesy or full of himself...women are picky like that..

But regardless, based on your pics, you should get a lot of responses....but considering how good of shape your body is in, you need to be hitting up the clubs with a muscle shirt or tank top..and letting those chicks feel up your abs....should be easy game for you in the nightclubs....i have a bit of a beer belly right now myself and need to lose it

@Z: Thanks for pointing that out. I'm a swimmer so I'm around shirtless people all time so it's just not even something I think about anymore. I'll take 'em down and look for some others to put up tomorrow. I'm definitely not full of myself - far from it. Kinda why I'm on OKC in the first place.

I've yet to get any messages yet, still working on the whole opener thing. Hopefully I can figure it out haha

Thanks zinc

From New Orleans, Louisiana to Atlanta, Georgia!!!
A man's online dating profile is only as strong as his worst picture.

Hakuna matata means no worries. It's from The Lion King.

I also would guess it does not really matter what you are writing
in your profile. But I would keep it much shorter.
Always good to have something the girls can easily reference
and relate to, because then they are more likely to send you
a first initiative meassage.

From your photos you seem to be really good looking and sweet.
I would add a picture, where the girls can better see you face.
Your smile and curly black hair.

your picture will make or break your profile - if the picture is good enough, most women won't even read the words in the profile. The reason I know this is that the first sentence in my profile is my name, and 9 times out of 10 they ask for my name. Sometimes the profile does get read, so when you write it, be slightly aloof, arrogant, and what not. It'll spark some attention.

Not a judge of male looks, but with the right picture you'll do fine with responses. If your first profile picture doesn't get many responses, cycle a few in and see the responses. Once you get the right one, you will notice a huge difference in emails. They will respond more often to yours, and will initiate more.

What a silly thread.

You're 19 man. Girls in your age range have the attention span of a fruit fly. You think they're going to care much about your profile or how "witty" you are? Girls that age who are online dating are not even smart enough to grasp the concept of "wit".

Put up your absolute best pictures. If you have abs, show them off. If you don't, get them.

Shocking, girls go after looks too huh? Wake up.

I didn't really expect them to read much into my profile, which is why I've only got like 2 of 10 fields. I've been lurking here for a year so I've got an idea on how looks play into online dating :p

Girls in your age range have the attention span of a fruit fly.
As a 19 year old male, I can confirm this.

I found some other pics that show my face a little better. Most of my recent pics are me shirtless though...
Click and click.
Not sure how I feel about either of them, especially the broccoli one.
