A friend of mine works in an office and sent me this message:

"Today in the office, a colleague forgot his phone on his desk. The boss saw it and discovered the unlock code. He then checked the colleague's chats and laughed with the other employees. He also told his girlfriend, who was also in the office, and they laughed together at the colleague's messages. Then he said to us, 'Well, Mr. Colleague, it's not mentally healthy to look at his media.'
I still can't believe what I saw. The girlfriend acted as if he were a 'great' man for doing this, and all the other colleagues were laughing. I'm wondering about this boss's attitude outside the office."

He also told me that this man is not very good-looking but has female employees at his 'feet.' They 'want' him. I wanted to report this man's behavior to show that no matter how you look or behave, if you are in a high position in your given circle, you can attract women.

Now, this is not to say that you should act like that. But we know what a mature man would have done in this situation.

So this boss casually committed a federal crime; the Electronic Communications Privacy Act protects private communications across almost all electronic channels.

The girlfriend laughed because it's her boyfriend. The other women in the office don't "want" him, but he's in a position of power.

This colleague should absolutely report this behavior to somebody above him and have him fired, especially since other employees were part of/witnessed this.

This post has nothing to do with women being attracted to somebody in power regardless of looks - he has the power to fire/promote them, so of course they play nice. The people who took part in this are all absolute sh** human beings, alongside the boss and his girlfriend.

How could someone "discover" another person's passcode to access their phone? I wouldn't be able to access my employees' code to unlock their phone, let alone the people I live with.

Sounds like a BS story to me. I'm not gullible though.

OP lives in Italy, where those laws don't exist. Frankly, even if this boss were here in The States, federal law wouldn't have deterred him either... Note how many Gottis, Luchesses, and Bonanos have been put behind bars on racketeering charges

Ahh. Still an awful work situation and I'd probably look elsewhere if I were employed there.

It isn't mentioned in the story whether the phone was personal or company owned, but remember if you get a phone (or any device) issued to you by your employer, you have no privacy rights at all.

It is not. These people are common in Italy. We call it "Impiccioni".
I don't know the mechanicsm behing, but women are attracted by those men.
Also, those men, who own companies, usually do "nero" earnings, which means they get benefits for something secret
