With age comes wisdom, this may be true for some, but for others does not make a difference...

Some people learn that a good balanced meal is what you need to stay healthy, but some not... where I live I see communities where they eat lots of pork, red meat and for drink coke and beer... wth?

When I was young I used to eat lie this because of my heritage, but luckily, I found out the right balance... too late. I have liver, kidney, and articulation problems, not to mention digestion issues too. I am not young anymore and at 38 I and trying hard to get healthy again...

When you are young you say, It does not affect me, Nothing is going to happen to me, my family is strong, etc... And it is true some people have bad habits all their life and die for other causes like age... a good example can be George Burns smoking cigars all his life and never got cancer, maybe his outlook in life, a life worth living and that helped, and this is also true, it is well known that if you are happy and smile and laugh always then you will be healthier.

Any way the bottom line is:

Avoid junk food, eat fruits and vegetables, eat white meat, if possible avoid red meat and pork and do not drink cola, or any kind of soda, do not drink alcohol, or beer.

By the way I have never drink or smoke and see what happened.... some friends joke about it saying "that is why you are like this" but we know the truth.

I hope this help some of you.

Best wishes for everybody.

Firstly, what is wrong with red meat from healthy grass fed animals? Even if this was bad for me (its not), I'd rather eat steak knowing I was shorting my life by 10-20 years.

The problems arise when you eat meat from cows (as an example) that are pumped up with chemicals and fed corn. All these farming techniques that are used to mass produce beef leads to altered macro nutrient profiles and an unhealthy animal, and off particular concern is what happens to the omega6/3 ratio in these animals. Instead of 4/1, 2/1 or less, it goes up to 20/1 or more. This is more of an issue in America however, here in the UK there is grass galore.

The rest of your advice is reasonably sound, however I would say that sodas/alcohol/the odd cigar/fast food can be enjoyed in moderation, if you don't have pre existing medical problems.

I would also add that exercise is very important from a health standpoint as well, but we all know this.
