Anyway I agree with Stagger about how wrong his attitude toward the fact has been.

The way I see it, Obama is really saying two things that are not true and are racial favoritism. First, Obama's suggesting that Trayvon was not killed by George in self-defense. So Trayvon was not in the wrong, George, the jury and the entire US society was. Second, he is saying someone who was actually a black thug, never-do-well is instead just a promising youth and the next potential President of United States!

In other words, no accountability or blame for poor conduct and behavior if you're black. And also, society (non-blacks) is to blame for anything non-advantageous that happens to a black person. Solution? Ignore a black person's substandard behavior and conduct and reward them in lieu of and at the expense of others who are not a member of the favored race! That's racism and that's been the agenda for many years now.

Its not the main thing I think about. I think about middle class issues a lot more than race. Last I checked, its generally white guys creating threads to talk about race in the Anyhing Else part of the SS forum. You rarely see our minority members come to this part of the forum and create threads discussing race. But folks love to say racial minorities think too much about race when they date defend themselves.

If the white guys on this forum would stop creating threads that talked about race so much, Id never talk about it. I dont care to bring it up here, because Id rather focus on getting puzzy and topics related to getting it. Its generally white dudes whining about blacks, immigrants, or Obama based on the threads Ive seen started in this section. In the main DJ discussion its not even the black dudes starting up race threads the most there either. Its Indian guys usually it seems.

Instead, I have to ask why have some white guys been conditioned to think so much about race that we have threads like this pop up even when there isnt a big issue in the news. Or hell, Id also like to ask why straight dudes here create threads so focused on homos. EDIT - The same people who are tea partiers today, didnt seem that against any of the bailouts given to the banks or auto industry before or during the time that wall went down. Seemed like they started complaining long after the fact. Hell, many supported the bailouts.

Imagine if after the OJ acquittal the president would've said "Ronald Goldman could have been me when I was younger" or "Nicole Brown could've been my daughter"? And judge this case based on that. This is, I'm pretty sure, what the jury have done. They can't put race into the equation. They have to see it by evidences and law, and nothing else. And that's what they came up with: not guilty. They can't turn it around even if they wanted to, because simply there were no evidences to do that!

I personally think Zimmerman should've gotten a manslaughter. At least. However, the law dictated otherwise, and it sucked.

Now the fact that everyone got so riled up about it shows how easy it is to control the American people with the race card.

Never mind that your individual freedom has been stripped off.

"man kills black boy" This is a leap above the previous...Now we've established this as a group being victimized. I will go out on a limb and say that if the title said "man killed white boy" the results would be the same as far as attention.

Each individual that falls into either category is expected to defend his side. This can get people roiling..people who even aren't necessarily wary of race.

A man kills a man when his life was not threatened deserves to go to jail regardless of whether or not he thought his life was in danger. He obviously is a menace to society if he can't judge the level of danger in a situation.

If zimmerman goes out in public and has his gun, he's going to be even more paranoid than ever. I'm pretty sure he will lose his mind pretty soon as I'm quite certain he's somewhat on his way there.

That said, unless you're a police officer, you have no business questioning me about where I'm going. maybe approach me without prejudice. "hey how you doing, you lost? Need to get somewhere? I can help." This is a very passive approach and can assist defusing a potential horror story. A fox would normally run away, but when feel threatened will lash out.

Anyway...it's already done, however, these laws need to be reviewed for the safety of the majority of our nation since most people don't carry guns. We don't need this to continue. Hell, at 18 I was a go nowhere punk rock kid with a crappy job and NO ambition to EVER go to school. I just wanted to party and be in a band. Years later Im doing well for myself and have 2 college degrees. And I def have better style now.

I am Trayvon Martin..

The picture on the left was taken when I was 17 years old, had just graduated from high school, and really didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. Based on my appearance in this picture, you probably would have labeled me a thug or a trouble maker. I only graduated in the top 50% of my class and I took my ACT 4 times. A promising future in college doesn't look too well at this point does it?

But at age 17 (Trayvon's age when murdered), I didn't realize how much I would be judged and stereotyped for the clothes I wore and my physical appearance. Two months after that picture on the left was taken, I entered college and quickly realized that I wasn't pushing myself to be the best I can be. I hardly studied in high school but as as freshman in college I began to study daily. As a matter of fact, I did so well that I was able to participate in a summer medical internship at Yale University. I then went on to graduate from Prairie View A&M University Magna Cvm Laude and in two weeks I will be attending Texas A&M Health Science College of Medicine to become a medical doctor.


The picture on the right is where I am now just four years later at the age of 21. The reason I am sharing this with you is because I COULD HAVE BEEN TRAYVON MARTIN!!! The defense team could have gone onto the internet and found pictures of me that were similar to Trayvon's pictures and characterized me as a thug. They would have then portrayed me as the aggressor and as a result it lead to my death. If that would have happened, then I would not have had the opportunity to reach my true calling, which is a medical doctor. My White Coat ceremony is in four days and it marks the next step in my journey. I could have been laying in a casket with a black suit, instead of of being in a white coat trying to save lives.

When I was 17, no one would have imagined that I would be doing so well and on my way to medical school. Who is to say that could not have happened to Trayvon Martin if he was still alive? He could have been the next doctor, lawyer, engineer, teacher ,etc.

My prayers go out to his family and friends.
