Alright, I did a search on this, but couldn't find anything. If I am not sore the day after a workout, is that a sign that I am not lifting enough? My routine always seems strenuous, but my biceps are never sore the next day when i work them out.

Any info would be appreciated.

back when i worked out 4 times a week, i was only sore for the first 3 weeks or so.

i was still making very steady gains but the soreness was not an issue. i'd be pumped to no end but not have muscle soreness.

When you start training you will be in agony. But once you get used to it you're right. Being sore isn't an indication of whether you trained your muscles hard enough.

I always warm up and stretch properly, but when I started my weights routine I was always sore as hell - but now no matter how hard I push myself I just get a tired feeling, no more soreness. Recently I started doing HIITs and I can hardly walk right now:p

After your muscles get accustomed to the stress there shouldn't be any more soreness.

soreness is not indication of a good workout (or not). It has nothing to do wiht it.

Well that depends on how long you have been training for!

Anything under a year, and DOMS (Delayed onset of muscle soreness) IS an indication of how hard you have trained.

If you are training for under a year, and you are not feeling a bit tender or stiff the next day or 2nd day after, your intensity is up to ****. Put some heavier weight on the bar, and train till failure. People are so afraid of overtraining these days, they actually undertrain.

I have been training for four years, and I still suffer from DOMS after most sessions. Its not as extreme, but you know you were at the gym the night before. DOMS does not have to be that begginer pain you feel when you first start. Someone pokes you in the chest and you collapse like a sack of ****. Your muscles just feel a little weaker or lazy

Just worry about putting more weight on the bar every workout and soreness will take care of itself.
