This girl I knew once told me "your not really that handsome, but your still definitely hot" I asked what the fvck does that mean? and she said it's hard to explain, but most girls will know what it means. I asked a female friend of mine and she said same thing yah its hard to explain.

Well I kinda didn't talk to her much for a few weeks after that cuz she pissed me off (this may have been kind of AFC of me but I don't know). Later she said it was actually a compliment because I said you were hot. She became a fvck buddy of mine for a few months after so its not a big deal.

Just wondering though, what the hell is something like that supposed to mean? My body is in good shape as she compliments that all the time, my face is average to cute. I get the "your cute" comments when girls talk about my looks. (I have kinda a big head though lol which sucks, and I don't know what to do with a hairstyle, I look much better in a hat) Sh!tt this is really long sorry, so anyone know what this means???

Which type is preffered is really dependant from woman to woman i think. So either way it's not a compliment nor a stab really.

You know, it's funny...

I received a similar back-handed compliment about six years ago in college.

I was out drinking with my friends, and a female roommate of mine--a real tomboy and fortunately, not someone I was attracted to--was talking to another girl about some celebrity (I forget who.)

Anyway, when referring to this celebrity, she said something like, "He's not that good-looking--there's just something about him..."

And then she continued on, "It's like Gravyboat...there's just something about him."

Now granted, she didn't say "he's not that good-looking" the second time, but it seemed implied--at least based on what she'd just said a moment earlier.

Anyway, I actually didn't take offense, because if you think about it, it IS a compliment when someone says, "There's something about you..."

If anything, it reinforces the belief that women are indeed attracted to that "something" more than our looks--an aura, a presence, a sense of confidence...whatever.

That moment DOES make me laugh when I think about it, though...

20 bucks says it means you arent THAT great looking physically, but everything else about you is "hot", or turns her on, i.e. your game, attitude, personality.

The term "handsome" is limited to describing attractive physical features; while "hot" can allude to many things, looks being the most often used of course... but in this case, she probably means your "DJ" qualities. That's why she can't explain what she meant by her comment; the fact that she is attracted to your "DJ" personality is either something that she would rather not explain to you, since its weird to talk about; or something she can't even understand herself--which is the case for most girls.

I think you're going to have to be an exception if they call you handsome. To them calling someone handsome is equivalent to a guy callin a girl beautiful. It's a powerful word to describe someone, hence why most girls use hot/cute to describe a guy that has attractive qualities and could still be attractive also.

Its better than being the opposite(handsome but they're not attracted to you). You have what most DJ's want. Being able to turn girls on is much more important than just being handsome.

I've been told by some girls that I'm very handsome but I just don't do it for them.... believe me that's much worse than your situation.

Yah it sounds like you guys understand what I'm talking about lol. Makes me laugh that some of you have had the same weird comments. When she said "not THAT handsome" she may have been referring to my facial features. She said something like "when I first look at you i'm not like wow that kid is gorgeous!". I think most chics feel that way about me, but they would describe my face as average to cute. She compliments my body alot, so maybe that and some other "DJ" qualities, like an above poster said, made her feel i was hot.

She actually used to neg me alot haha, maybe she was reading the DJ Bible lol. I had just started reading it, so I gave some back to her saying stuff like "you could never get with a guy like me." This stuff definitely worked on her a lot! I guess I got what i wanted in the end (fvck), I jus tthought that this was weird/funny so I would share with you guys. What are some other fvcked up things girls have said to you? Just wondering it could be kind of funny to hear.
