In my experience with a 200+ nofap streak it forces you to find satisfaction elsewhere in your life. It pushes you to be a more wholesome man simply by freeing up your time and not constantly drowning your brain with pleasure hormones. You start to see fapping as what it really is, a coping strategy to remain content. It can be overwhelming to completely stop, especially when you've been doing it your entire life. It's a paradigm shift.
You start to relish in that hunger for satisfaction. And in seeking that satisfaction you drive your life forward, slowly discovering that the satisfaction comes from achieving your own goals and pushing your own limits. If you use the energy efficiently it's easy because you make yourself so busy with other endeavors you don't even think about fapping and start seeing it as the waste of time it is. If you don't change your ways nofap will feel like an insurmountable task that only frustrates you. You'll rationalize maintaining the status quo of your life, rather than taking big risks to influence, inspire, learn, grow, teach, etc, because you can't bring yourself to admit you're weak willed.
For all the doubters I always say if you can't go a full month nofap, then you probably have issues and would benefit greatly from it. If you can do so no problem, then the benefits you experience will probably be trivial.
