no cell phone?

well im 16 and trying to pull the whole "hey now that im starting to drive...i should have one in case my car breaks down or something" but its looking pretty doubtful...i have trouble getting a gf anyways...and i do almost everything right except right before i make my move i lose confidence and self destruct and fall into the friend zone...i was just thinking that if i had a cell phone it might give me that extra boost to my confidence when trying to pull a 'phone close' or something....
