That's the lamest thing someone can say to me if I am in a committed relationship. I wouldn't even take it as an insult or taunt. What Rollo said is true for the most part.
Why is it lame? Because you have never stopped to question your motivations?
I didn't say that "passing up opportunity makes you weak", I said "some might say that it makes you weak". I made that statement to make you think about what you were saying.
Believe it or not, morality is much less about right or wrong than it is
control. A lot of what you think is "moral" actually serves society and/or religion at the expense of the individual.
Point is, there is always another side to the coin, and if you always take everything at face value, you aren't doing yourself any favors.
And just for the record, I agree with Rollo.....it's all about opportunity and reason, although I would say that in many cases the "reason" is more about justification than reality.

And there you go.
The more ethical of the population what to believe there is some underlying, psychological reason. I think some people will do anything and everything in their mind to believe we're more than just the current most intelligent animal on the planet.
People with self-imposed rules need reasons. Those rejecting self-imposed rules do not.
Perhaps your most eloquent quote to date.
