Re:
Holy Crap...what da fark is up with football?
Nice BOUNCE back Donovan.
Woot...Go bears!
Seems like everyone just had good "seasons" and goes to prove the ability of Peyton and Brady far and away above all else.
Hatin'...you're just jealous of the Pats. Most organizations will never amount to a dime next to Kraft, and that's the fault of the OWNER first, and then on down.
Speaking of owners...The Chargers would be WAY better had they not DUMPED Marty for Turner. At least they'd be kicking ass right now and be near guaranteed for 12 games. Now, who the heck knows?
How I see things...
People assume WR's will mature by year 3/4. But it doesn't always happen. It has happened to players like TO, Chad Johnson, etc, but not ALL top picks become WR's. In most cases, the leagues top teams DILUTED their roster, rather than increasing it in ability. The Pats are MASTERS of filtering out talent and bringing more than they lose. They've kept intact their O-lne, D-line, Brady, and bolstered a team that went to the Playoffs, with arguably the BEST core of WR's (all news one playing right now), with even better players.
Sammy Morris, Wes Welker, Randy Moss, Kyle Brady, and Donte Stallworth are PHENOMS. And...ding! PROVEN! Most NFL teams go get 1 high priced, proven player who had 1 career year, overpay, kill the salary cap, and sell a bunch of jerseys...then LOSE. I don't think we've seen as much as we had in the past years. Sure Nate Clements went to the 49ers, but that was something of a dumb move, too, b/c 1 player DOES not make a team.
On a side nite...where would Brady be stat wise if he had WR's like this all the previous years? How many close games would be won much easier? Does this end the Peyton vs Brady debate? Peyton has had top tier Wr's since he started...Brady JUST GOT his.
People just love to hate. Why not just switch teams? Most of you hatin' were here or rooting for the Pats when they SUCKED. When Bledsoe was always on the CUSP of GOOD/GREAT, but would simply lose it and screw up. I always knew watching him he was an INT or FUMBLE away from a lost game, so I'm thankful for Brady and his ability. He'll be here forever. Those grumbling don't know what it was before, or has never had a great QB to root for, so can't appreciate it. They only see VIDEOGATE, and their own insignificantly crappy team. But it isn't the players...it's the coaches + the gm + the owner.
This past weekend was a particularly crappy day offensively. I looked across the fantasy games and few points were tallied, whereas last week, some teams had record point totals, indicating alot of HIGH box scores going around. I know Daunte had a good day, as did Crayton, Romo, etc...but they are very confined totals.
Plus, there's not a whole lot of offensively productive RB's running around. The past few years we had hardline debates on LT vs LJ vs SA...and this past year even Frank Gore was included. People thought Ronnie Brown or Carnell Williams would be the next wave of LT or even Cedric Beson, but I'm not impressed in the least.
No clue what's up, but it goes to show what separates the men from the boys.
