Hey guys. I've been lurking around here for quite some time and have read a lot of good posts and articles since I found this site. I have read most of the DJ Bible and I feel like I have gotten a lot from the articles that I have read here. Good, good sh!t. Now here's the deal: Earlier tonight (It's 4:40 A.M. here now) was the first time that I got out around some chicks and actually had the whole DJ frame of mind going on. I was at a party with a lot of chicks and although I was bashful (like always, dammit) at first, by the end of the night I had loosened up quite a bit and managed to talk to a few girls. Now I didn't make any # closes (WHY?! WHY?! WHY?!) but I did make some good conversation with a couple girls. My whole deal is that I'm a self-admitted AFC trying to get out of that frame of mind; In fact, I'm your model AFC. My whole problem is this: I simply CANNOT make a move on a girl unless I have been drinking. I can talk to the girls than I'm not interested in no problem; It's just those chicks I'd like to hook up with that I have so much trouble with. Now I know you guys might tell me to do the whole DJ boot camp thing (which I really should do) but I'm just wondering if anyone else has or maybe used to have this problem. Sh!t, maybe I should just carry a bottle of Jose around with me in case there will be girls around. I don't have too much trouble if I'm loosened up with some booze, but sober I'm just a total puss around chicks. I honestly think I'm I good looking guy and I *know* I could get more chicks than I do now. I sit around pondering the way of the DJ and think it through about how I'm going to talk to chicks, but when it comes down to business I just don't deliver. So I guess my question is this: Is alcohol a good tool for the budding DJ who is too shy when he's sober? Am I just talking steps backward by only talking to chicks when I'm buzzed? I thought that maybe if I get used to the idea of hitting on HB's when I'm buzzed, it will get easier when I'm sober. What do you guys think? I appreciate any replies.
