I've been thinking about trying something new but I can't think what to try. Anyone got any recommendations on new things I could do? Maybe clubs or something that unexpectedly turned out to be really fun?

Of course anything that gives me exposure to young women is highly beneficial ;)

I would recommend you do something competitive like a sport or poker. When people get really good at something competitive, it makes them a more confident person.

Whatever hobby you take up is going to be based around your own personal interests.

Asking others to name some hobbies for you is like saying, "I want to try new food. Can you recommend some?" You'll get 100 different responses from 100 different people.

You already know what you're curious about, so go try those things.

I know the obvious is to 'do what interests you' but I was looking to try something different.. something I may not have considered. Just looking for ideas!

Re-picking up hockey in college was the best thing I could have done. Took a while to get good, but now I can play the best sport on the planet, and take a girl ice skating if need be and look like the best one out there! word of warning is that its expensive, and probably the most niche sport of the big ones. Having played all the other big ones , some competitively, none even come close. many years later, its still my passion and am always finding ways to get better at it. it also keeps you in excellent shape as you need to be strong, fast, agile and coordinated to play; its the total package.

agreed, and my response is no less biased than someone elses. The merit of this thread is for respondents just as much as the OP though.

if you are a man, definitely do something that will boost the testosterone. Weight lifting don't count. You should lift weights anyways if you are a man. To me, I feel lightened and passionate when I think about boxing. I therefore joined the gym. I realized in hard way that if a man's passion lies in woman, then he's scheduled to be doomed.

Golf is cool if you can afford it. It's kind of expensive, but you can play it your entire life if you like it.
Some girls play so you could get mixed foursomes together if you know the right people.

If you can afford it, MOTORCYCLING! :D

Ever since I was a pimple-faced teenager, I wanted a bike. Now that I can afford to have one (or two), it's fvcking awesome! Plus the tail it helps pick up doesn't hurt! ;)

Guitar. I've been playing 10 years and I love it as much today as I did when I first started. It's a very rewarding activity. It's a great way to relax. When you really get into a song and play it well, it's a great feeling. It's really awesome when you play with other people.

Plus, there's the added benefit that chicks love it. Learn a few popular songs that chicks love and it will make bangin' girls a lot easier. We call them panty droppers for a reason!

guitar sounds cool but I'd like something more social. I think I may get back into rugby... as yea, I miss contact sports!

Here is one that I do: Salsa dancing. You naturally meet women this way - getting numbers is a piece of cake.

Here is some of mine: Reading, martial arts, chess, working out, more reading, music production, visual arts or any type of art I can make using my computer...

I think the key is to balance mental hobbies with more physical hobbies so that way you dont become a computer / bookworm nerd or a dumb athletic guy...

Have fun!
