Natural watching the pickup artist.

So my boy who is natural watched mysteries show and thought it was the nerdiest show ever. Those lord of the rings amulets and "kino escalate" have become staples of our banter. "dood, you better kino escalate <sarcastic grin>"

But he did admit that all of the nerdy stuff that mystery was talking about was the same stuff that he did, he just never thought about it in those terms.

I was thinking about this earlier today though. About naturals and those who learn how to do it. I think that those who learn the methods of pick up will eventually surpass naturals. Similarly to those who are naturally good at fighting, will not be able to beat a black belt who worked for his title. So in the end we might be better off

^^But what you forgetting about naturals, is that not everything came to them right away, even a natural has to learn, its just their frame in life is so different, every natural (and belive you me, Ive met some who could blow your favorite pua guy out of the water) I've ever met they all had 3 things in common.

1. Extermely confident
2. Alpha males
3. Postive aura which gravitates anyone near them

I agree a pua can surpass a natural only when he has those traits mention above, which hence will make him a natural I guess (just look at Neil strauss, he doesn't need "tactics" anymore"

There was a point in a naturals life where he was an "AFC" (as many here like to call it). Many of the ones I know learned their wisdom from persistence and failure which lead them to subconciously learn from their mistakes and sometimes others were fortunate enough to learn from someone with experience in their family, or even a very close friend. Every natural I know has gone through the hardship of trial and error, pain and rejection and that explains much of their experience. Unlike them we need sources like sosuave which is very informative but lacks in the experience department if you don't get up off your ass and do something with yourself.

Well, I kind of agree with your friend on watching that show. I have been labelled a natural already, probably because I didn't know that there was even such thing as a "pick-up-artist" and I don't really know what all the acronyms mean. But, I find it interesting discussion anyways.

What bugs me is when I can blatantly tell who is "trying to pick up girls" in a bar and watching this totally formulaic, rehearsed act go on in front of me with female after female, as if they are on this conveyor belt going from girl to girl. It was really wierd hearing the same line or sequence of lines three or four times in a night. For the longest time I couldn't figure out what was happening with those guys when I went out. I actually thought that it was some type of multi-level-marketing thing they were doing.

So, heres a question: Do PUA's actually go through a mental checklist of items when they are talking to girls? opener [check] response [check] neg hit [check] etc...

I agree. A lot about the game can be communicated on a forum like this or even by watching seduction in action. But if a guy just puts himself in the midst of the action and forces himself to try and fail and try again, he will be able to come up with his own tricks without even knowing about it. I have read some threads on this board and some material from seduction books and realize that I have been engaging in variations of the tricks discussed. You live and learn, you fail and triumph. That is how you become a natural. It takes years to get good at anything in life, so you need to work hard at it and stop trying to use shortcuts.
