Alle_Gore,

If I see results I'm looking for, or if there is a possibility I can see such results, and all I have to do is "not masturbate", then believe me I'll go over two weeks without a problem. It sounds too good to be true that a simple omission of an action can have any major consequence with the ladies or even anything in life, and I have to check that out as an experiment.

To Werman and others,

I am working on my whole person. I'm hitting the gym, have a personal trainer (sort of like a date with a hot girl, doesn't feel like a chore with me, got a nice trainer) I see once a week and I'm sticking with my program.

I don't see what else I can really work on with regards to myself at this time. I figure, if I have the right chemistry, body-confidence, then I'm on the road to where I'll want to be. At this time that's all I'm really interested in working on with regards to myself.

After all, all it requires is discipline. Discipline to stop masturbating, and discipline to go on the gym on my own. Sounds simple enough.

This simple omission is not just masturbating, its not releasing sexually. Your body, your genes want to be passed on. The body is built for survival and sex, in that order.

Not releasing sexually will cause your body to undergo changes that affect you physically and psychologically in order to get sex. Your testosterone levels go up, your pheromone production increases, you mind is sharpened in order to get the job done. Directly going for it, or indirectly like in self-improvement.

It's a standard negative feedback loop that works on your entire body.

So abstaining from choking the chicken would be a good thing entirely?

Odd that you know that pheromone production increases when it's not even been proven that humans have pheromones.

As inspired by the 'masturbation' thread, I'm going to be evaluating if "Natural Pheromones" are emitted if I abstain from Masturbation between April 2-3rd, to September 25, 2009 and seeing if there is any difference in the reactions of women around me, or in myself, during this time.

Poonani-maker appears to notice various differences in reactions of both women around him and of himself when he has abstained within an 8 week period (2 months). This will be approximately 5-6 months of pure abstainence to conduct this experiment.
You'll probably have a bit of a personality shift.

You consider regular ol' hormones like cortisol and testosterone to be pheromones?

If women prefer different things at different times of the month then what is the advantage because at some point you are going to be the preferred.

You can change your testosterone levels without stooping to bullsh1t like not masturbating or spraying it on yourself.

Do you consider perfumes and colognes to be pheromones? Certain odors like these on a woman can get me turned on. I could've told you 15 years ago that my girlfriend liked the smell of my sweatshirts and would want to wear them.

Look more into this. Very few studies show much of anything regarding this, which still leaves crap up in the air. I did say "proven," not "a few studies suggest that it's possible." A few studies suggest ALL KINDS OF THINGS are possible.

And wtf anyway? You give me a study of NINETEEN men? You think you can draw conclusions from 19?

All they've shown is "we should look more into it."

Haha,

Here's one low sample size study they mention where it actually drops testosterone if you abstain for 8 days.

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/south99.htm
Chinese researchers conducted a study in 2003, and enlisted twenty-eight male volunteers to abstain from ejaculation for a period of one week. The participants were tested daily for deviations on serum testosterone levels. The Chinese study was the first to measure the influence of ejaculation frequency on serum testosterone levels, and the results are provocative.

Researchers found that abstaining from ejaculation for six days had no impact on serum testosterone levels. On the seventh day, serum testosterone levels peaked to 145.7% of baseline, and then declined rapidly on the eighth day.7,8

Researchers believe testosterone declined on day eight from the negative feedback suppression of Leutinizing hormone secretion. Leutinizing hormone is essential for testosterone production, and LH determines free testosterone levels. Suppression of LH would decrease serum testosterone levels, returning them to baseline. The study determined that the frequency of sexual activity and ejaculation impacted testosterone levels.

I found nothing in the first 20 results of a google search that says not masturbating helps with any of this.

This is another thing you are stating as fact, but is the epitome of inconclusive.

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Does_masturbating_decrease_testosterone_level

A simple google search shows again and again there's not much evidence of this.

Another thread i won't be revisiting.
