When I say "natural," I don't mean medications that aren't man-made, **** like ginseng and that kind of crap. I'm just talking about things you can do in life to kick a bout of depression.

I already exercise at least 3-4 times a week. Any other tips?

Suffering from the blues are we, Squirrels? MUSIC seems to help me when I'm down in the dumps, none of this grungy goth stuff though, can make things worse, but groovy upbeat tunes.

Getting out of the house, you feel just worse when you're moping about alone at home.

Try sAm-e. It's an all-natural compound that was used to treat depression but I use it for it's joint regeneration properties.

This isn't B.S. like gingko or whatever the hell. It's a powerful natural compound that works.

Gives me a nice lift.

Give it a try.

I feel for you squirrels. Depression is always a lurking evil in my life and I have to take care of myself or else I slip back into gloom.

Here are a few natural aids:

1) Stay positive and pursue inspiring goals that motivate you
2) Help other people-it makes you feel better about yourself
3) Eat more essential fatty acids-basically a lot of oily fish, nuts or flax oil.
4) Keep yourself active even if you don't feel like it!

I'll give you some advice and I really hope you act on it.

Go and see a hypnotherapist. A GOOD one. Only go to one that you have been recommended by someone with results as of ource as with any other type of service there are a ton of fakes out there.

My brother and Dad are Master Hypnotists and they deal with people in your situation weekly, and you know what they REALLY do help people.

I know it sounds a bit condensending but a lot of being depressed is about how you carry yourself, what you focus on etc. I read a book once and it said imagine there are two doors. Behind one is a depressed guy and the other a real motivated and happy person. Both sitting on a stall....

Can you picture both? The depressed guy would be slouched, looking down etc... The happy one would be tall, upright, etc.... Don't dwell on the bad things, focus on the good things you have done and be confident you can contonue to do more of these things in your life.

Remember what you focus on in your life you will get.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Flax Seed oil is supposed to help. It also helps in bodybuilding and acne.

Natural - forcing yourself to be more positive, interacting with positive people, etc.

Still, supplements aren't unnatural. They're found in your food afterall, and there's the added placebo effect to enhance your mentality.

-Fish oil
-Vitamin B-complex
-Selenium
-Zinc

Squirrels,

As Eulogy mentioned, Sam-e can help with depression. The only downside is you have to take it several times a day between meals.

As Matt Rogers mentioned, essential fatty acids are great too as they increase the amount of serotonin in your body.

While some people say St. John's Wort helps, I would stay away from it.

You can also load up on the amino acids tyrosine and Phenyalanine to increase the dopamine in your system.

Never try to read a woman's mind. It is a scary place. Ignore her confusing signals and mixed messages. Assume she is interested in you and act accordingly.

They aren't drugs my friend. Drugs are synthesized by humans and are artificial. Supplements are found in nature; the capsule form is simply an easier way of obtaining the desired micronutrients.

Just like the herbs are an easier way to obtain the active ingredients in the drugs. ;)

When you start talking about taking things a normal human wouldn't eat in order to change your serotonin levels, you may as well be taking Prozac at that point.

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.

I forgot to mention something incredible that I also use. It cured my insomnia, anxiety and I'm getting more and more in touch with my inner-self.

It's called holosync. Google it. I don't have the time. :)

Look you ask for help and people give you gems here and you shrug it off as unnatural. Many foods elevate your serotonin levels to enhance your moods, many you eat everyday. Turkey has tryptophan and chocolate is a mood enhancer.

All these herbs contain compounds that are found naturally in foods, it's just that our modern diet is so cr@ppy that we don't get these. Same with the vitamins. You can either take selenium and zinc capsules or you can eat them in hundreds of different foods. They're both giving you the same effect and one way isn't less natural than the other.

It was found that exercise and the omega 3's in fish(or taken as fish oil) was more effective than prozac.

all this sh!t here 5-htp, SAM-e, whatever will not even come close in potent to nootropics. the best nootropic out there is piracetam. piracetam is such a uniqe drug that even the fda cannot find any toxicity with it even in high doses. do a little more research on it and youll see what i mean.

What the hell? Do you even know what nootropics do, buddy?

They're smart-drugs. I've used 'em before; they work, very well I might add. But that's all they do. Enhance mental function.

They don't do jack $hit for depression.

Make sure that everywhere you are is REALLY lit up. I mean light coming from everywhere. Eat more oily fish, get plenty of omega3 fats etc.

Sounds like you're having a rough time at the moment. I know how that feels. Theres no shame in going to the docs and getting yourself sorted if things dont improve. As for natural stuff, in pill form or not in pill form, they work. I guess all thats standing in your way is a belief, or some pride. Either way, only you can change that.

As for these high tech drugs, whatever floats your boat. I dont have an oppinion on them cause my body can either cope or it cant. If it's life or death, I'll take them. If it's more trivial, it's something I'll let my body sort out by itself. Simple as that.
