I grew up in South Bend, Indiana. I'm somewhat of a rarity as I hate the Irish with a passion. Private school full of a bunch of rich snobby kids, for the most part. It's sad too because South Bend is a bit of a run down, crappy town. A-lot people here are working class, poor people. Notre Dame wouldn't cross the street to take a p!ss on a-lot of the folks in town here, yet this whole town seems to love Notre Dame.

As a sports fan, however, this is the national title game we all dream of. You've got the good old boys from down south, the public school powerhouse in Alabama going up against the Catholics. The private, rich, well to do elitist school of Notre Dame.

It's good vs. Evil!

You've got two ridiculously good defenses, although I REALLY do question how good Notre Dame's defense is. In my opinion their only really impressive win was @ Oklahoma. I mean they needed a last second field goal to beat a 6 win Purdue team, and 3 OT's, count em 3, to beat a Pittsburgh team that lost to Youngstown state.

On the other hand you've got an Alabama team that came back in Death Valley, Louisiana to win the game on a last minute drive. That's tough sh!t to do right there. I think Bama's loss to A&M was more impressive than ND's win over Pitt, lol..

But again, I'm biased. All year I've talked about how overrated ND is, but the fact of the matter is they've gone undefeated, which is hard to do no matter who you play, let alone with their schedule of blue blood teams. So I really don't know how to call this game. I'm hoping with all my heart That Alabama absolutely blows them out. But, in the pit of my stomach I have a feeling ND might make this a game. Fuc-k.

Don't get me wrong, I'm an INDIANA HOOSIER fan until the day I die. That's my home state school, my home state team, and where I earned my degree. But on January 7th, all I can say is....

ROLL TIDE!!

The championship game already took place and it was Georgia Vs. Alabama. Half the teams in the SEC: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Texas A&M, LSU could beat Notre Lame. Notre Lame can barely squeak by sh1tty unranked teams like Pitt and Purdue.

Alabama will beat Notre Dame by 21 and it won't even seem that close. you heard it hear first. I can't predict NFL games for jack, but when it comes to college football I'm usually spot on 90% of the time. if this game were played the following week after the SEC Championship game, then yeah, I'd give ND a CHANCE. the fact that Alabama has over a month to get healthy and put in a game plan is not good for Notre Dame. when have you ever seen a Nick Saban team come unprepared into a NC game? never. Notre Dame hasn't played a team as physical as Alabama. not even close. it might be close in the first quarter but I bet you by halftime it will be over.

I don't deny that the SEC is good, but they aren't that good. Most of the teams in the SEC didn't really play anyone all year. Bama's only impressive wins are against LSU and Georgia. The fact that the SEC has so many teams in the top ten just shows how much BS the pre-season poll is, and how biased the media is.

I think ND will beat Bama. Everyone said aTm would be destroyed by Bama, and then they won. We'll just have to see.

you forgot that team Bama opened with and proceeded to take behind the woodshed to begin the season. Michigan. you know, that team that Ohio State barely beat? you forgot a Washington team that LSU beat by 30, the same Washington team that beat Stanford. you forgot Florida State, the team most thought would be in the BCS NCG, yeah, Florida took them behind the woodshed too and showed once again that FSU was overrated. you forgot my hometown team, the USC Gamecocks who mud stomped Clemson for the 4th time in a row, who's only loss was to FSU and was ranked 12th at the time USC kicked the piss out of them. the fact is Alabama has played BETTER and higher ranked teams then ND has. everyone likes to put down the SEC and claim they play a weak schedule but the facts I just gave you speak otherwise.

ND is constantly the most overrated team every year. If Mant'i Taio(sp) wins the heisman i will sh!t a brick. He's a talented player but he is definitely not heisman worthy. If he played for any other team he wouldn't even be in the discussion. Luckily espn is hyping up A&M's Manziel so I think he will have a better chance than Taio. Now if only my Nebraska Cornhuskers could get their sh!t together.....

None of what you listed matters. Comparing games between different teams doesn't make sense. LSU barely beat Ole Miss and Arkansas, two terrible teams. Florida barely beat Mizzou and LA-Lafayette. Georgia barely beat Tenn. South Carolina barely beat Vanderbilt and Tenn. Point is every team has bad weeks and you can't compare teams' performances against other teams.

Bama beat a Michigan team who went 8-4 and was obviously overrated in the Preseason poll. I'm not saying the SEC isn't good. I just think there is a lot of hype around it that inflates its teams rankings. People were actually saying Bama could beat NFL teams, and then they lost to aTm. Too much hype. Then again, I think it's pretty lame how teams (in all conferences) play fluff teams early in the season to inflate their stats and rank.

Anyway, I have my team and others have theirs. I just hope the BCS games are good this year.

sure it matters. you said the SEC had a weak out of conference schedule and didn't play anybody so I gave you some of the top teams they played outside of their conference and beat, handily. why would you name games where SEC teams barely got by lesser SEC teams and then say you can't compare games where teams struggle in some weeks?lol I know you're a ND fan, but the SEC has earned everything it's got trust me. no one is hyping them up because they haven't won anything, it's well deserved hype. I think ND is a good team, I don't think they are the #1 team but they are the only undefeated team left so they deserve a shot. if ND beats Bama they will get all the praise they can stand, it'll come i promise you! the thing is though, they have to beat Bama and I don't think they can get it done. it's like Ric Flair said "to be the man, you gotta beat the man." Right now the SEC is THE man and ND has to beat them to shut up the SEC talk. they get their shot in a little over a month from now. the BIG10 couldn't get it done, the PAC12 couldn't get it done, let's see if the Golden Domers can.

I never said the SEC has a weak out of conference schedule. I said it's lame how all conferences play weak teams to inflate their stats and rank.

This is honestly how I see it. The SEC has three consistently good teams: Bama, LSU (sort of overrated), and Florida. USC, aTm, and Georgia are decent, but the rest of the conference is terrible. These five (excluding aggies) teams are usually ranked high in the early polls, and any in-conference loss against these top teams doesn't really drop the losers rank by that much. Add that to the fact the remainder of their games are against fluff teams (both OOC and SEC bottom dwellers), and it ensures the SEC always has a lot of Top 10 teams. They also play less conference games than the Big 12 and Pac 12 which leads to more 10 win teams in the conference.

I actually don't like ND. I think they are cheesy, but I'd never say that all of the top five SEC teams could beat them.. I'm a Texas guy all the way (why are they still ranked btw...they're terrible atm). I don't personally have anything against the SEC teams. I like the Longhorns, but I don't hate any other teams, including OU and aTm. I just think SEC fans seem to buy into their own hype too much.

I dunno man, sounds like youre jealous of the SEC and it's dominance in bowl games and National Championship games. I mean to call ATM, USC, and Georgia AVERAGE teams?lol come on. USC's only two losses were to two of the teams you rated as good, same with UGA and ATM. the fact is Oregon got their shot against Auburn and lost, Texas got their shot against Bama and lost, teams get their shot against SEC teams in bowl games yet the SEC wins the majority of those bowl games. have you seen the awful record the BIG10 has in bowl games lately? especially against SEC teams? it's God awful! I'm not buying into hype about the SEC, but hype is something that hasn't been proven. SEC dominance the past 7 years has been proven over and over again. i don't think it will last forever, that would be stupid to think so.

Jealous? I'm not playing college football so what is there to be jealous of? Hell, I don't even care when Texas loses. I just like watching good games, and I don't get emotional over sports.

Let's just agree to disagree.

Ya'll are crazy. I'm an SEC guy, but let's face it Alabama is not going to be as fired up and hungry as Notre Dame. That's why it's so difficult to repeat as champs. Not to mention Brian Kelly is a d@mn good coach himself. Alabama will be prepared, and may have a tad of a talent advantage, but Notre Dame will be playing with an edge.

And how do you determine a champion without letting someone from the rest of the country get a shot? You can't just have SEC teams play the thing all the time.

if Oregon or Kansas State hadn't lost, they would be playing ND come January. no question about it. you can't lose badly to Baylor and expect to play in the NCG though, the voters will never allow such a bad loss. Oregon has an argument because they lost to Stanford, but what Alabama can claim that they can't is they won their conference. I think last years game was kind of a joke, but this year the computers got it right.

Apparently two years ago, one of the ND players raped a female student. The university refused to do anything, and she was intimidated into shutting up. Then she committed suicide.

And yeah, I'm sure the author of the blog is a feminist. But that doesn't make her wrong. The story makes a lot of sense. It's not much different than Penn State and Jerry Sandusky.

I told you all Notre Dame was gonna get exposed. This is what happens when real champions step up. Bama makes Notre Dame look like bottom feeders.
