I’m thinking of watching an Indie movie right now.

An Indie movie is a less budget film, no special fancy effects, just intriguing storylines and great acting.

I’ll name a few which comes to mind :

- ‘ The Fundamentals of Caring’ starring Paul Rudd, in it he stars as a caretaker with a wheel chair bound kid and they form a cool friendship.

- ‘ Good Will Hunting’ starring Robin Williams and Matt Damon….we all know this one, this film won an academy award.

- Manchester by the Sea ….I’d like to see this one, saw several clips on youtube.

What’s your favorite indie films?

I always had a problem with the “Indie” tag being associated with already established Hollywood names. It’s sort of like going into a chain restaurant… that is trying to give off the appearance of a down home ‘mom and pop’ restaurant.

Anyway…here’s a few that came to mind.

Pink Flamingos

Slacker

Web Wilder; Private Eye - The Saucers Reign

Faster Puzzycat Kill Kill (I had to replace the two S’s with Z’s to avoid the word being censored).

2,000 Maniacs

I fuuking hate how the spell the word: "Indie", like it's a girl's name. It's as if they're assuming that anything that's outside the mainstream of anything is effeminate.

Repo Man is pretty good
Clerks
Friday (in honor of Deebo Samuel and the hordes of 49ers in SF)

Does Eraserhead qualify as indie? If so, that’s my pick.
