Worth it?
Here's the thing:
A lot of people make 100$-300$ an hour, so 2k may sound like a lot to some people. However, it's very reasonable to others. Go to any nice mall in a big city and you will see 16-22 year old women with nose jobs. Why do they have these? To make themselves more attractive and improve their mate choice/social value.
Now, plastic surgery isn't cheap. A lot of people may reason that 2k with no physical pain to improve their attractiveness/social skills is a bargain.
Consider that a Jr. or Senior level University course will cost 600+$. And that's at a public institution!
However, going to a workshop isn't a magic fix, that's where people get let down. A good workshop should allow you to see an instructor demonstrate. These concepts are easily confused, and it helps to actually see how it's done.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of workshops receiving reviews that this doesn't happen. V.A.'s is one of the very few workshop I would bother taking for this reason.
Secondly, if you have particular sticking points that you have not been able to get rid of. You've been out regularly for at least six months and can't figure out what to do by watching the local guys and experimenting on your own. In this case, it would probably be best to consult with an instructor before the one-on-one or bootcamp to make sure the issues you're concerned with can/will be addressed.
If you're really tight on money, then a bootcamp might not be for you. Clothes, hair, cover charges, gas, courses, etc does get expensive. But the biggest cost any of us face is the cost of not making progress... this will cost people more money, enjoyment, and health than anything else.
