My personal boot camp

I am currently working in London on an internship, after a rather disappointing year as far as women were concerned at college. I have decided that the only way for me to make rapid improvements is to make approaching and talking to girls such a habit, that it is no longer such a big issue for me, and I can come across relaxed and playful rather than hesitant and nervous.
I am fine on the eye contact etc. So I am going to be concentrating on starting conversations with women. Rather pressured for time, as I work long hours, but shooting for 20 girls this week, and maybe upping the target on subsequent weeks.

Main venues I am working on are supermarkets, bookstores, train stations, and coffee shops. Squeezing all these approaches into my busy day means I cannot afford to wimp out, and have to take my chances when I can.

Quick background on myself. Rather introverted, and inexperienced with women (boarding school, sheltered family life etc). Average looks, and great body, bit boyish looking.

Basic motive for this post, is to make sure others keep me accountable, and hopefully chart my transformation on this board.

Girl number 1 (Pert blonde around a 6)

Walking down the street and saw girl handing out leaflets. Commented on how she was lucky to get paid for topping up her tan. She was a bit dense and required me to point to the sun before she understood. She hit me on the shoulder playfully and smiled at me.

Girl number 2Girl next door sort of looks 6.6)

In a bookstore, asked about an author the girl was reading. Before I knew it she was talking about all his works, taking me to see the range of his books, smiling at me all the time. Made a few comments about how all the girls at uni are reading Harry Potter so it is a refreshing change to see a girl reading modernist classics. Should have closed, but guess I was not even expecting such early success.

Girl number 3 (curvy pretty girl, with brown hair and a friendly face around a 7) Supermarket

Commented on how she must be preparing something nice that evening, and if I was invited for dinner (she had parma ham, and cheese). She laughed and told me about this recipe she was making for herself. We were heading to the same train station, and talked some more, and she was telling me about her summer job for a charity. Things seemed to be going well, but just as I was about to ask for her number, she made an excuse and left.

Girl number 4 (Supermarket-average looking brunette 5.5)

Commented on how long the queues were and how we would be lucky if we made it to work on time. She laughed and talked about how her boss always complained about her being late. I was actually in a rush, so after we paid for our food we sort of drifted apart in the crowd.

(Note on my rating systems. For me 5 is the average girl in reasonable shape with a friendly looking face. Anything lower than a 5 is a girl who is either fat, homely looking, or completely non-feminine). 6 is the sort of girl next door sort of looks. 7 is the pretty girl. 8 is a beautiful girl with a bit of sex appeal. 9 is model looks. Reserve my ratings above 9 for Victoria Secret;s models, escorts, Scandinavian beauties, and Latin hotties. Nothing ranks above 9.5 for me.)

Actually I disagree strongly with microphone fiend. The odds are very much in your favor.

This method that you are doing requires the most courage of any other method, in order to become a Don Juan. And anything that requires this much courage will not only make you a Don Juan, but a much better man. A man with strong, lasting self-esteem and confidence.

Anything that requires this much courage will make women take more notice of you. In time, your success with women will improve dramatically. As will your success in life.


I'd say that puts the odds in your favor. As long as you remain brave and don't give up. I'm with you, Matt. Keep it up!

Girl number 4: Tanned blonde around a 7.5
Location on the train. She was coughing and sneezing a lot, so I commented on that being a nasty cough she had, and she should be taking the day off work. She found this quite amusing, and said her boss would never believe her as she had just come back from holiday. We talked a bit about where she went to (Ibiza) and as she was around 6 years older than me, I did not pursue things any further.

Girl number 5 Girl on the lift at work 4.5
Commented on how lazy the girl was to take a lift to go up one floor. She laughed and agreed with me, and said she had not had any breakfast and was not feeling up to walking up any stairs. I had to get back to the office so I left it there.

Girl number 6 on the train
She was wearing a silly dog collar with her bus pass on it, so I commented on how it made her look cute. She made some excuses, and I commented at least she would not lose it when it is around her neck. She put it away, and did not seem eager to continue the convo, but she made these weird smiles while looking away from me, and avoided eye contact.

Yeah, it is tough and my voice still cracks a bit and I come across as very nervous, but once I get to the 50 girl mark, I am sure it will be no big deal, and I will be able to make a cool, relaxed approach. Still, I want to prove to myself I can do this, and the challenge is what makes it so fulfilling.

Yeah I find thos punky gothicky chicks are wearing all of this PAY ME ATTENTION clothing because they're actually kinda shy and are toally hanging out for someone to say "hey , nice dog collar" or some ****.
The problem is they also attract weirdoes like flies to poop , so when a guy they might like starts checking them , they're s***scared of the whole situation.
Viscious cycle huh?

Mmm. I tend to avoid the girls who look either stuck up, slutty, or weird, as I reckon there is no point practicing on people who are not going to respond too well, and I would not be interested in anyway.

Girl number 7
Outside the bookshop around a 6. We were both leaving and it was pouring with rain so I commented how it did have to be raining just as we had to leave the bookshop. She smiled politely and made a neutral sound, and went off in the opposite direction

Girl number 8
Bookshop. She was looking at economics textbooks, so I commented that I had found a certain one very helpful during my first year. She asked me if I could give her mine now she had finished with it. Her boyfriend turned up so I excused myself.

Went to a salsa dance class and spoke to loads of girls for the first time, so this sort of ups my total a bit, but still short of the 21. Got to schedule more time after work. Sort of thing that will work better in freshers week, but until then I will keep trying as hard as I can to get the three a day in.

What does everyone think of commenting on clothes, shoes, accessories etc, as there are often situations where a situational comment does not come to mind.

Yeah...even though it'd be a great way to improve self-confidence (by getting bad reactions/rejected), you'd be getting that in week 4 anyway...

What does everyone think of commenting on clothes, shoes, accessories etc, as there are often situations where a situational comment does not come to mind.

Spontaneous comments that flatter the woman is good....just make sure it doesn't seem like that's the only thing you're concentrating on. Natural flattery my good man. Look in the bible for this one article about flattery (i think it's in the Hall of Fame...check both) it will tell you how to be naturally charming and flattering.

Girl number nine:
Not really a stranger, but amusing incident so I will include it anyway. This was a girl at work, who had commented earlier she was going to Brighton with a friend. I commented in a teasing manner on how she had obviously caught the sun (she hadn't and she knew it). She giggled and said "I knew I liked you MAtt" She is now making veiled hints towards me, e.g. saying she fancies one of the summer students, and looking in my direction. Rather tangled web, as I am actually into her beautiful best friend who also works at the bank, and unfortunately this girl who is into me, has realised this, and it is all getting a bit complicated. The beauty is not interested, and the other girl is not particularly good looking and I think of her more as a friend, and office romance can be disastrous so I will let this storm calm over.

Girl number 10
hot 8 in her 30s. A milf! A dustbin man on the train brushed past me, rather rudely in a hurry, so I commented on this after smiling at the woman, who had been watching proceedings.
