As spring has arrived, it's time to break out of my winter hibernation. *yaaaaawn* I would like to introduce everyone to Pearl, one of my Babies. I love bikes and this is my latest creation.

My next bike is going to be a Triumph Bonneville T120R engine ('67-'69) mated to a rigid frame (haven't narrowed down the dimensions yet) and chopped to the bare essentials. I like that motor because it has the vintage look, sounds nasty, and is also a single case unit. Let's talk bikes, Men! Riding season is here!

Ride hard, ride often.

Respect.

Hey the picture has been removed!! Would you mind putting it up again so that more people can see it?

Note: I am hot for the bike, not for you:D

Yeah, kinda had second thoughts about posting a pic of myself on the internet. Will this suffice?

My R1:

af moved out of state and left me his R1 to sell:
http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x252/dotheopposite/4sale_blackr1.jpg

It's a 2001, with a custom exhaust, polished frame, and race plastics. He and I usually ride together, and I never leave him behind, even at 160+ mph. He wants $4,000. The custom exhaust rumbles like an old hot rod, but this bike will probably not pass emissions testing if it is required where you live. He just moved, and I have not yet put the bike on Craigslist.

She's a beaut, Clark!

Although my tastes lean away from sportbikes, I am a lover of all things with a motor and two wheels either foreign or domestic. I have a list of projects that I want to do, and chopping a Buell to a rigid drop seat is high on that list. But not as high as the Bonnie project!:D

Been out riding much yet, Bible? Ski season is coming to a close, and it's going to be time to bust out the bike. I still want to do a custom exhaust wrapped in header tape with a hypercharger intake to get it breathing a little better.

I can appreciate cruisers on a long ride, or with a girl on the back. R1s were not made for those purposes.

I never winterized the bike. I ride with the temp down into the 40's, so I just take it out at least every couple of weeks. I ride with a ridiculous amount of gear, which is hot in the summer but warm in the winter.

I would like to someday at least ride a litre sport bike that is turbo'd or supercharged. There are turbo kits for the R1 that put the bike at over 200 hp.

I feel ya. I try to ride at least once/month in the cold winter months. Triple-layer Gore and Windstopper everything when it's cold. Really the only thing I'll do to winterize is just disconnect the battery and put stabilizer in the tank.

But I am READY for the warm weather, as I'm sure you are too. Can't wait to load the ipod and just ride...

I'm just as adamant about road cycling. Love it, hopefully this time around it won't keep breaking down (bought it used). That's why I'm taking the time to learn how to do small repairs and maintenance.

Hey that's great brother! The first bike I bought was a '78 Honda CB200 back when I was about 19. Didn't know a darn thing about bikes, but bought the Chilton's for it and just tinkered. Eventually, I built up a pretty decent aresenal of tools. Had to bore the jugs and replace the pistons, and had to do a few other things to it electrically, but eventually got her running. That was the bike I used to get around in college.

One tip I might give to you is to get to know the guys at the shop where you order your parts. If you get to know them, they're more inclined to help a guy that "helps himself," you know?

Just keep wrenching and reading, and pretty soon you'll be McGyver'ing all sorts of stuff for your bike! :D

Oh sorry bro, I was talking about my road bicycle hehe. But what you said definitely can be applied in the smaller bike shops, where I was hooked up with free parts!! I'm more than likely gonna start racing for my future school, but not necessarily become a Lance Armstrong.

Yeah dude I figured that out after I posted. Ah fvck it...

But I guess my advice is so sage that it cuts across many hobbies!

*pat myself on the back*

Seriously though. Good to hear that you have such a healthy hobby Bmx.

If you can't repair everything from a broken heart to a dropped injector with a paper clip, a chewed piece of gum and a fork; it ain't worth fixin'!
