I have been cutting for 12 weeks.

Gone from 17% bodyfat to 12%

Weight from 198-180

ALL lifts have increased.

My diet has been pizza, chocolate milk, pamcakes with nutella, kit kats, doner kebab and chips, chinese food, kfc, mcdonalds.

And man i feel great. Ive seen dudes at the gym with their chicken breast and brown rice and im glad it aint me.

Anyway I would like to say that if it fits your macros works great combined with intermittent fasting. I lift at around 6pm then go home and have 2300 calories to play with. I just hit my protein then the rest i dont really care where i get it from. I eat whatever i want.

Sometimes ill carb up before chest day on a refeed. I eat two pizzas and go in that gym ready for beast mode. Meanwhile my training buddy has his 50 grams of brown rice and feels like ****.

Point being fellas, dont listen to all that bro science stuff. Calories in vs calories out is all that matters, combined with good training.

And take a multi if you are worried about micros.

Haha...keep it up for a few years and come back and let me know how you feel.

You'll learn sooner or later...hopefully it won't cost you your life before you do.

Quality food is a huge difference... All the stuff you mentioned is processed and low quality. Do what you want though.

Its an experiment man, ordinarily i eat pretty healthy foods.

My point is to show that for body compisition, the "quality" of food doesnt matter at all. And the hodge twins, matty fusaro and many others have already proved this.

You see so many guys obsessed with the minutia that they never progress.

That said I'm never going back to the low gi, 100% whole foods thing again. I train hard, live an active lifestyle and dont drink, so i think eating by the 80/20 rule is fine.

When your talking about fat loss and getting shredded, quality food intake is a very large difference. A lot of the junk foods you mentioned are not quality proteins and carbs, and also have chemicals which cause inflammation.

With a quality food item, you can FEEL it in your body that it's getting more and better fuel.

Like I said, I knew a female fitness star who did that same trick appearing that she's always gorging, etc. The reality is around people and for videos she would gorge. But she would skip meals and eat super clean outside of eyesight.

But everybodies body is different.

I will put up a transformation at the end of my cut.

Sure eating healthy has health benefits, but "clean calories" is total BS, that stuff belongs in the 1940's, it makes no difference for getting lean and shredded.

I see SO many people who "start the gym" and have their little pots of chicken breast and broccoli every 3 hours, with no seasoning because they are told sodium is bad for them.

99% of them QUIT within weeks because there is nothing enjoyable about that.

So long as you are hitting your macros, and caloric defecit or surplus dependent on goals, that's all that matters. And you can actually eat food that tastes nice.

But hey if the old school dudes want to tuck into their tuna and sweet potato until death, all good

It all makes a difference! Some of those carb sources produce LESS inflammation and longer term or more energy than others. It actually matters, like the type of fuel you put in your car. It probably makes more of a difference the more higher performing you are. Like marmel and I said, it makes a difference we can feel in our bodies.

In my opinion there's nothing enjoyable about it. They quit because they don't want to engage in the sacrifice and hard work that it takes to maintain an aesthetic physique.

If I could eat candy bars and pizza all day and look the way I do (I have pics to prove it), then I would eat candy bars and pizza all day. And I imagine a lot more people would do the same.

For now you CLAIM that you eat whatever you want yet still manage to look fit. Without pics I'm not buying it. It's just a claim.
Pics coming at end of cut. TRUSS ME BRAH

That's not necessarily bad if you can control it. I've found the problem is once you start doing that it becomes far easier to slip to 70/30...60/40...50/50...40/60, etc until it starts making a big difference in your weight/insulin sensitivity

Most of the fit "gorge" pics are fakes. Those folks skip meals and eat clean when out of sight.

Every time I have eaten 'clean' I have felt better after an adjustment period. Every time I eat garbage I feel terrible in the long run.

I'm no nutrition expert, but I know if you are gorging on processed foods full of sugar it's going to be bad for you in the long run.

I am trying to develop healthy eating habits without making it a science. I know if I am consistent it will pay dividends.

A calorie is a calorie. It's been proven. Look no further than the nutrition professor who lost 27 lbs eating snack cakes.
http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/11/08/twinkie.diet.professor/

But OP you are delusional if you are making the claim that the QUALITY of your diet is comparable to low GI, whole foods, fruits and vegetables, etc., as you stated.

I'm not hating, to each his own. All I know is that personally after a while I lost my taste for junk food and the thought of eating the typical "chicken, rice, & broccoli" actually pleases me. If you don't have the discipline to eat clean, and enjoy doing it..... How sustainable will your IIFYM diet really be?

Like I said, no judgement. Just let us know how it works out, long-term.

I dunno dude. I mean I can tell right away if food is good for me or if it's bad for me. If I eat cakes and ice cream and a lot of chocolate, I feel slightly nauseous and just feel like **** after 20-30 minutes. But if I eat some kind of salad or something that is a typical 'healthy' type food, I feel good after 20-30 minutes. Now I don't even find chips and candy appealing, and can't imagine how people think chicken breast is disgusting (unless they get that super low quality $3.50 / lb type crap).

Just because you eat it doesn't mean it isn't bad for you. Take antifreeze for example. It tastes super sweet and probably has calories that we can never know about, but it's poisonous and will kill you if you drink it. Or poisonous berries. You can eat it, and your body will absorb it, probably take with it some of the calories that are in it too. But you will have explosive diarrhea and maybe some nausea within a couple hours. In the same way stuff can be good for you, there's also stuff that can be bad for you. There are foods that have lots of vitamins and such in their calories. There's also foods that have stuff that is slightly poisonous to you, but is in small enough quantities that the FDA doesn't deem it worthy of mention. It's just that when you consume lots of that food that the poisonous substance(s) build up in your system that it starts to make a difference.
