Dont listen to to Spec and Spin. Most people will always want you to fail, dont let them tell you what you can and cant do. From one college guy to another, I dont do cold approaches on campus either, UNLESS something really situational is going down, which hasnt happened to me yet. Instead I try to chat it up before class or something. So basically I agree with Elky. In school try to make friends, develop some social proof and reserve cold approaches to off campus places. On campus only do it if you are sure of yourself because "you want to be that cool guy who knows everyone, not the creepy guy who cold approaches."

Tip for any Asian guy trying to hook up with white girls - downplay your ethnicity. Don't mention it, don't acknowledge it, don't bring up anything remotely related to Asians - especially in the first 30 minutes of a cold approach. Your goal at the onset is to crush all her stereotypes and prejudices towards Asian men. Do this and she'll soon forget she's talking to "just another Asian guy".

Keep in mind white guys doing a cold approach open with a blank slate. For Asian guys she's already assumed all sorts of things about you before you even open your mouth - and they're all negative. If white guys start with a baseline threshold of 0, for Asian guys it's in the negatives. Your goal is to get to 0. ASAP.

Also, way too many Asian guys have nasal voices with gay-sounding inflections. Stop that. An Asian guy with a deep, masculine baritone could even be sexy.

And all the advice above is void if you've got an Asian accent. Accents are the biggest game-killer. Even Asian-American girls won't hook up with an Asian guy with an accent. Stick to FOBs.

hey man, i rarely post on here anymore. but i just want to tell you that you're doing a great job. whenever you see a girl u really want to talk to, go up to her and talk to her. direct, indirect or situational doesn't really matter. if she likes you, you'll know it. i think social circle is good too but don't let it stop you from doing what you want. in my experience, if the girl doesn't likes you then she will point out everything bad about you and think what you do is creepy. but if the girl likes you then she will find you approaching her is really sweet and romantic. bottom line is, do what you think is best for you and don't "really" care about what other people around you are saying. the reason i emphasize the word "really" because i want you to be willing to listen to other people criticism/advices while filter out the one that you know is not helpful for you.

before i reach the conclusion, i want to remind you that to not get too hang up on those pua terms(negs, c/f, social circle, direct, indirect, etc.) if you open up to everybody, be outgoing and go after what you want. imo, you're already there.

Let me tell you about Nelson. Nelson was an Asian guy on my campus who had a habit of "introducing" himself to randoms. Pretty soon word spread of his "introductions" and he developed a reputation as that creepy guy on campus who hit on all the girls.

In college, girls are still at that stage where what their friends think matters A LOT. And word spreads. Nobody wants to hook up with "that creepy loner guy" - it's social suicide.

Be weary of running cold approaches in closed environments like college campuses. They're best left to large, anonymous environments where you're not bound to run into the same people.

Join clubs, make friends, get invited to parties with alcohol, hook up with girls. That's college game.

If I'm a nerd into nerdy stuff, am I going to talk about comic books and Dungeons&Dragons during a pickup? There's nothing inherently wrong with these activities, it's the sort of guys that are ASSOCIATED with these activities that's the issue - guys that typically don't get girls. Since she doesn't know enough about you yet, she'll typecast you with all the other guys normally into these activities. A smart successful guy gets the girl later in life, when she is ready to settle down. But in her youth? At partying age? She is not banging Asian computer science students.
