So my favourite vertical pulling exercise is underhand lat pulldowns, i.e. pulldowns with a chinup grip.

Are these pulldown machines made for tall people btw? I'm pulling more than my bodyweight so I have to put weights in my pockets and then kinda dangle off the bar until I fall into a sitting position, lol :)

But anyways, I have to grip quite hard on these, and after a set my hands almost feel like they're cramping up a bit. The next day I get DOMs in my hands as well as the expected muscles. The DOMs is in the "muscle" below my little finger.

Basically the questions are, am I actually working the muscles in my hands, or is there another explanation for this?

Also, depending on the answer above, is it possible that my hands could get a bit bigger? :D

Strange topic, I know, I've just never seen anything about it...

cheers.

hand muscles make your hands look stubbier unless you change your finger length.
pulldown machines? you put weight in your pockets? don't you sit down on those 0.0?

well in order to sit down I have to grab the bar pull the pully far enough down so that I can get my knees under the bar things...So I have to make myself heavier because the weight I'm doing is more than my bodyweight. So I gotta put weights in my pockets, haha :)
