Whenever my muscles are a little sore (no pain but just recognizable) I feel like the exercises I was doing were effective.
Then again, when I don't have any I feel like I didn't workout hard enough.

Is muscle soreness unhealthy? Or is it a good way to determine you're doing the right exercises?

no, soreness is not necessarily a reliable indicator of a growth-inducing workout - but if you do something like a 20 rep squat and are NOT sore after it then you were half-assing it.

soreness is also dependent on things like workout volume, work capacity and recovery rates - you might find you make your quickest gains when you DON'T get sore because your recovery rates are amplified through nutrition, cardio and other things.

as long as you are holding form and the weight on the bar is increasing over time then that's all you need to worry about, soreness is secondary.

Up the protein, soreness is a good thing. You tear your muscles down, and you must be fast to recover them by upping protein intake.

The only time I get sore is after hell workout for legs, or when my diet is not in check.

When u squat 4 times a week, you learn to squat thru the soreness.

The body is amazing, it adapts..

Back on topic thou, I've gone from 140kg squats to 160kg squats without increasing a kg of bodyweight.. At first I was disappointed, but the more I think about it, the more unenthusistic i got about hitting the weights.

Nowdays I weigh myself once every few weeks, record it, and left it at that.

Don't over complicate things.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Thanks for your replies!
I was just having the feeling that whenever I don't have a little soreness the next day that maybe I didn't train hard enough.
