Haha, I was coming downstairs to grab something to eat for breakfast. Mom had left cream cheese and white bagels for all of us. I looked at it for a second and then muttered quietly "wussy food." I grabbed two cups of cheerios, a glass of orange juice, and a banana, with my calcium supplement.

So, to me, what is considered "wussy food?"

cakes
cookies
chips
french fries
chips
condiments
fried foods
white bread
cheese
frozen dinners
pizza
ice cream
chocolate

the list could go on, but you catch my drift.
Yeah they taste good, that is why we are so tempted to eat these whenever we are on a diet for example. That urge and temptation just creeps to us. So in a way, we "wussy" out whenever we succumb to our desires and indulge in these foods.

Now, we cannot fully avoid these foods. Cousin Bubba having a cookout? Sure, have a burger on white bread and some water with it. Going to have a dinner of fried chicken and biscuits at Aunt Jemina's? No problem, just pass on the gravy, and have yourself a water instead of a pepsi. MINIMIZE the "wussy" foods out of the diet.

We are what we eat, so eating crap all day is not going to have us performing optimally towards interacting with people, making good grades, etc. I stand by what I preach, for the longest time, I have stayed away from fast food, eating only at Chick-fil-a. My order at chick-fil-a consists of a Chargrilled Sandwitch with light mayonase and a cup of fruit, with water. Sounds bland eh? Well sure, after a while i get tired of it, but i know that I will look and perform better eating that than eating a fried sandwich with fries and a soda.

Right now, i am putting my focus more on household foods. Staying away from the sodas, cakes, cookies, and chips that are in the kitchen closet. It takes a lot of discipline, those foods just call out to us sometimes! But whenever i tell my self "wussy foods" I stay away because I know that I am NOT a wuss!

Minimize the crap, MAXIMIZE eating as natural as you possibly can. Cook with olive oil, buy a george foreman grill....food can still taste good without it poisoning your body. Just takes more effort and discipline, but in the long-run, our mind, body, and soul, will function much better.

Damn dude, chill out. Yeah you wanna avoid fatty foods like those if possible, but eating them now and then isn't gonna completely kill your physique.

And wow, have a little fun once in a while. Why live if you can't enjoy it. You're absolutely right that eating those foods frequently is not good, but every so often won't hurt. At least you can enjoy your meal instead of having bland stuff all the time.

And BTW, since when are bagels bad? Just substitute the Cheerios for them and still have the bananas and orange juice and calcium supplement and I'd say it's still a good breakfast.

Come on man! Toughen up soldier! I can have fun if I want to. It does not have to be in the form of poisoning my body with deep fried crap. I said in circumstance where there is little you can do to control what is coming into your mouth Ex: family dinner or cookout, its okay to indulge a LITTLE. But THATS IT!

Our normal diets should consist of clean, natural foods.

I am sorry man, but I find having girls swarm all over your chiseled out six-pack more enjoyable than eating pound cake in front of the TV

WHITE bagels. Any kind of ENRICHED BLEACHED flower is not good for the body. Wheat bagels are fine! Wheat bread is great!

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.

I just had myself a nice grilled salmon with creamed artichokes with a lovely side of carrots and cabbage salad with vinagerette. This was after I was contemplating eating a peanut butter sandwich and a banana, instead. (I am not a big fan of seafood)
I said fyck it and then proceeded to eat the salmon. I didnt scarf it down to get it over with. I just absorbed that bland taste with that wierd distinct flavor of the artichokes. Went down pretty nicely. :)

My friend makes this cake using whey protein powder. It's f'in disgusting. I don't consider that wussy food, more like mental patient food.

Anyway, yeah.

hmmm.....

Eating this "wussy food", as sstype puts it, is FINE once in a while, as long as you don’t make it a habit, its fine. If once a week you feel like having a slice of cake or a piece of chocolate, then go for it, there is nothing wrong with that. A few months ago I was on here asking how to get a 6 pack etc, now I have one, AND I still eat these "wussy foods" here and there, and not because i HAVE to, but because I WANT to! If you have enough self discipline to know when enough is enough, and still to your healthy diet, then there is nothing wrong with "rewarding" yourself once in a while.

I agree that eating healthily is a better option eg: buying brown bread instead of white bread etc, but not eating bagels and cheese in the morning for breakfast is a little extreme in my eye's. I have a toast with cheese/avo/etc every morning, with a cup of hot chocolate (its winter here now), and I still manage to keep a very good shape. The difference here sstype, is that you will miss out of the good that foods have to offer, and I wont, but we will still both end up with similar, if not the same results at the end of the day.

My point: Don’t torture yourself by restricting yourself so much, having a snack here and there wont hurt you, I promise. ;)

Lol @ the thread starter.

Mate, your breakfast is ****. What's so good about Cheerios? They're packed full of sugar and refined carbs. And you think because you are taking a calcium supplement your breakfast is good?

Try this for a breafast.

3/4 cup cooked oats

1 egg yolk and 3 egg whites made into an omlette with minimal oil.

Stop your bytching everyone. First off, I said MINIMAL, not completely out of the question. Jeez, it seems like you guys just want to cling on to your habits of 5 oreo cookies and a tall glass of whole milk every night.

Reread my post. If you are in some circumstance where your only lunch available consists of hamburgers and french fries, sure go for that hamburger and few fries and have a nice glass of water with it. But dont go OVERBOARD.

RESIST the temptation! Only sissy girls binge on cake and ice cream. So be a fycking man for once and say no to yourself.

IMO, though, there really is no need for a "reward" grease burger or french cheesecake. The reward comes in the form of a much better looking body and healthier body!

Flame away...

SSTYPE is right here. Look around you in a cafeteria and notice the sh*t that people eat every day.

That's okay for them, but for us, who want to put ourselves a few steps ahead of the average, we need to stay away from wussy food.

It's actually good to indulge in a very "wussy" meal once a week - sodas and all. Ever read Bill Phillips' "Body For Life?" He makes it a point to set aside a "free day" in which you can eat whatever crap fatty food you want. It's actually good to trick the body this way to keep from reaching a plateau below potential.
Ok. That seems pretty interesting. Like shocking your body so it does not plataeu? Please elaborate on this more stormbringer...
