Hahah, hate to burst your bubble people, but should we start pulling out all the articles about how bad Soy Protein (from soy milk or other sources) is for a man - especially one concerned with bodybuilding?

I drink a brand of soy milk called "Silk" and it tastes pretty good.

Anyways, I think the stuff might have actually helped me with bulking up. But seeing as how it helps to prevent cancer and supposedly prevents baldness, I'd much rather drink soy than swallow cow juice any day of the week.;)

You always read this whole "scientifically proven" **** on the net. How do you know it's scientifically proven. Those claims are only as good as their source and I bet you I could find a couple of articles on the net which state that doing real low squats are the most healthiest way to do them, while others will state that you shouldnt go too damn deep because thats so damn harmful for your knees. Give me (almost) any ****ing subject with a scientifically proven fact and I'll find another source which says that the opposite is scientifically proven.

blablabla

I wont begin to point out the fact that there are no scientific sources for those articles. I will just go to the facts.

Basicly, it just said that having a high calcium intake and potein intake will cause detrimental effects. This doesnt mean just for milk!

If having a high calcium and potein intake is all it takes to have bad effects, ANYONE taking in as much protein as body builders isnt safe. It has nothing to do with JUST milk.

In the article it stated that 50G of protein a day compared to 91G for an american meant they didnt have any bad effects like us Americans. I take in well over 175G of protein, and as part of my diet, I eat greens. That puts me in that 'risk area' regardless of whether I drink milk or not.

Your article said nothing about the cow hormones in milk, what is exactly in the milk. All it said was that a high protein and calcium intake was a bad thing. The fact that we drink milk is mearly a coincidence.

Regardless of what any of you say, milk is very good for you. Not only does it include a decent amount of animal protein (animal protein is the best), but also lots of calcium. Calcium is vital for looking good. It regulates what calories you burn (so basically it tells your body what calories to burn, like burning fat instead of muscle). Its a very important part of being ripped.

Ummm.... i dont think so bud.

Parents who want to reduce saturated fat and animal proteins in the family diet have understandable concerns. They've read that both may increase the risk of heart disease and certain cancers but worry about calcium deficiencies if milk is discontinued

The problem with milk and other dairy products is that they are not only rich in calcium but they are also high in protein, which has been shown to create calcium loss through the urinary tract.

And as for drinking milk to help in being "ripped".... ..intriguing

Vanilla is good, but I don't much care for the chocolate soy milk. I've tried alot of brands, and 'Silk' soy milk is the best so far that I have tasted.

I've been thinking about giving up red meat as well... possibly even going on the alkaline diet by Dr. Robert Young, it sounds pretty interesting.

There is a reason most people throughout the world become lactose intolerant after infancy. You are not meant to drink milk after infancy. Now, with that in mind, why would you drink milk meant for infants that happen to be cows?

Sometimes, they grow into a big strong bull.
Yeah, and always, they stop drinking milk after infancy.

Go to notmilk.com. There's a lot of interesting literature studies posted there. Although obviously the site does have an agenda. Then again, the whole "milk is good for you" myth is perpetrated by the milk industry, and you can bet your ass they have an agenda as well.

There are numerous reasons why you should not drink milk. Not drinking it can improve your digestion. Studies have shown that drinking milk produces a buildup of puss in your body. The hormones in milk has been shown to produce acne. Just go to notmilk.com....lots of interesting stuff there.

And as has been said, milk isn't nearly the vital source of calcium as it's made out to be. There are plenty of better sources of calcium than milk.

I stopped drinking milk about a year ago, and almost immediately my digestion was much better, I didn't have so many runs to the bathroom, and my acne cleared up. I generally felt better. And wuddaya know, all because I stopped drinking something that nature designed us to stop drinking after a very young age. Oh wait, nature didn't intend for us to drink the milk of other species anyways.

And yeah, if you're a guy and care about the build of your body, stay away from soy.

Scrum - By the sounds of it, you read all of my posts... and finally someone who has a lot more mentality than a narrow-minded, tunnel-visioned, brainwashed clown. Good on you Scrum!!

Isnt it funny, how people dont want to face reality on certain issues that all the vital info is staring them in the eyes, but just because they are fed all this nonsense from people in "marketing".. they believe it. It amazing no end.

I am in the same boat as you... stopped drinking milk about a year ago also, i "may" have a glass once a week, just a small onw.. reason being.. i love milo!! haha...

Thanks for you input on the topic Scrum..

As you can see, no1 has replied to your post yet.. maybe now, we can stop hitting our heads against a wall... though you would probably get better listening skills out of a brick, than most of these people "defending" milk... its amazing how defensive people get... no1 was telling them not to drink it.. only bringing forward the information that we are not supposed to know...
